Lawmakers stunned by Heavican's name on list
BY JOSEPH MORTON
WORLD-HERALD BUREAU

WASHINGTON - Nebraska lawmakers in Washington were stunned to learn that Mike Heavican's name once landed on a Justice Department list of federal prosecutors who should be replaced.

They could offer no insight as to why Heavican would have been on the chopping block.

Mike Heavican

"That just shocked the heck out of me," said Rep. Lee Terry, a Republican. He added: "It more than shocked me - it angered me."

Attorney General Alberto Gonzales has been plagued by questions about the firings of federal prosecutors.

Brownlee's inclusion on list puzzles some
The U.S. attorney was reportedly a candidate for dismissal by the Justice Department, along with 29 others.

The linking of U.S. Attorney John Brownlee's name to the political firestorm surrounding the dismissal of federal prosecutors prompted bewilderment among observers Friday.

"It doesn't make a lot of sense for his name to be there," said Carl Tobias, a law professor at the University of Richmond who watched Brownlee's recent unsuccessful bid for a federal judgeship.

"The people that were fired -- all of them had some dust-up" with top officials at the U.S. Department of Justice, Tobias said. "My impression is he was pretty loyal to whatever the administration's agenda was."

13. Everything, and I do mean EVERYTHING...
...is theirs for the taking. And they have nothing but contempt for you and me. That's sums up their world view, and if you use it as a model for analyzing their behavior, you will never err.

15. The "hard way" may be inevitable.

The Dem win in '06 might make BushCo work twice as hard to steal/fraud it in '08.

Just remember this; The hard way will be harder than we all think.

5. Was wondering about that. The people who didn't make the list might be worth a look.
What all did they go along with in order to make the junta happy?

6. If it is possible that there is still one person out there that George Bush
has not shocked and angered, they can rest assured that their time will come too. It's one of the few things he does better than just about anyone else. I'll bet even his most loyal cronies have to put up with plenty of sadistic abuse from that psycho.

10. Monica Goodling her BF a job as Assistant US Attorney
On my website I've exposed Monica Goodling and her boyfriend/
Assistant US Attorney for Virginia Richard Parker (with 5
pictures).... (she most likely got him the job)

Its already been reported that the US Attorney for Western Virginia,
John Brownlee, was the FIRST name on the list of 5 possible candidates
for firing ......

... Perhaps it would be pertinent to ask how Goodling's boyfriend got
the job as Assistant U.S. Attorney... and perhaps it might be a good
time to figure out why the US Attorney from Virginia (a battleground
state) was put on the termination list....

12. Why are any of these guys surprised? It's amazing.
Half of the country has been talking about how underhanded and corrupt the administration is for six years. Half the country has made it quite clear that it's not a person thing, like the Republicans hating Clinton...it's an ethical, policy-driven thing.

Guess they weren't listening. It's sound more and more like a mafia gang in the W.H.
