Yushchenko Discounts Court, Wants Quick Poll

Pro-Western President Viktor Yushchenko, pressing for a quick parliamentary election, intends to ignore any ruling on his decrees by Ukraine's highest constitutional authority, a top official said on Friday.

Yushchenko and his rival from the 2004 "Orange Revolution", Moscow-friendly Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovich have long been at odds over a division of powers.

Yushchenko has issued two decrees to dissolve parliament and call an election to the assembly.

The prime minister initially ignored them and asked the Constitutional Court for an assessment. Both men pledged for a time to abide by any ruling and agreed to hold a poll -- though differences remain over when it should take place.

Presidential chief of staff Viktor Baloga said Yushchenko would not be bound by any Constitutional Court ruling.

Judge who suspended Yushchenko's decree victim of road accident

DONETSK. May 16 (Interfax) - Ivan Podolenchuk, a judge of a Donetsk court who suspended President Viktor Yushchenko's decrees dismissing two judges of the Constitutional Court, was involved in a traffic accident on Wednesday, Yury Myroshnychenko, a member of the Party of Regions' parliamentary faction, told Interfax.

"He was on his way to work in his own car. A car with tinted windows suddenly overtook his car," he said.

Podolenchuk's car swerved off the road and crashed into a tree. The judge lost consciousness, Myroshnychenko said.

When the judge regained consciousness, "he saw that someone had rummaged in his brief-case and his keys had disappeared," the deputy said.

2. The "Orange" should be "brown" for fascism.
These "democrats" are really just right-wing authoritarians. They're all about "liberalism" when they're trying to corrode the nation to take it over. Once in power, it's all about crushing all dissent.
