Halliburton seeks Middle East investors
Source: Reuters

Oil services and infrastructure company says it is looking to launch $80 billion in new projects worldwide during the next five years.

DUBAI (Reuters) -- U.S. oil services firm Halliburton is looking for major investors to take a stake in the company as it eyes about $80 billion in projects worldwide during the next five years.

"One of my goals would be to find a set of investors or an investor interested in taking a longer-term investment in the company," Halliburton CEO Dave Lesar told reporters Tuesday when asked if the firm is searching for major investors as it expands outside the Americas.

...

About 70 percent of that potential market is outside the Americas, which is why Lesar himself and Halliburton's corporate headquarters moved to Dubai, he said.

"If you look at a map of global oil and gas reserves, the focus of our business and industry is clearly moving to this part of the world," he said.

2. This is almost to obscene to be for real. They loot our country (and they
got by with it because of a fat evil bastard in the Vice President's office) and now that the money's gone they leave the country and start looking for other like-minded criminals in foreign lands.

This is an episode of the Twilight Zone in itself.

Halliburton moves CEO to Dubai in bid to boost oil income
By Bloomberg News | March 12, 2007

Halliburton Co., the world's second-largest oilfield-services provider, will move chief executive David Lesar to a new corporate headquarters in Dubai to help the company expand in the Middle East and Asia.

<snip>

The move will not affect Halliburton's legal status as a US company, spokeswoman Melissa Norcross said in an e-mailed statement.

"As companies usually refer to the CEO's office as the corporate headquarters, that's what we are doing," Norcross said. "We will maintain our company's legal registration in the United States, and we are not leaving Houston."

Surely you don't expect them to give up the perks and privleges they can have only here in Corporate America. You know, 'Corporate Personhood' and all those abstract theories that state that corporations have the same rights as individual citizens.

5. They want in bed with the enemy, too
rape both sides. Hope no one accuses them of providing material support to Mid-Eastern entities. If they were a Muslim charitable organization in the US you could bet Homeland Security and the CIA would be all over it.

Halliburton is tracking about 60 projects worth $80 billion (Dh294.24 billion) across the world for which it may compete over the next five years.
