24. Yes. It's ok when we torture/rape/murder/invade etc.
It's only bad when anyone else does it.

21. LOL it's called intel
seriously, you are surprised that we are getting tips that one is dead and 2 are alive?

It's really early here and I don't mean to heckle, but are you serious? I can give you all kinds of stories about tips my unit received from Iraqis......this tip is not surprising, what would have been weird is if he said that and then all 3 were found alive. It would mean our sources were compromised. But so far it looks like our sources are still legit......

22. More likely there were blood trails.
The Army reported one of the three was probably dead very soon after the ambush.

Your condescending attitude really makes you sound like PFC John Wayne. There's lots of vets on this board.

Work on your social skills, troop.

HILLA, Iraq, May 23 (Reuters) - The half-naked body of one of three missing U.S. soldiers was found on Wednesday in the Euphrates River in the town of Mussayab south of Baghdad, police said.

The U.S. military said it was investigating reports that a body had been found in a canal in the area.

Hilla police spokesman Captain Muthanna al-Maamouri said there were bullet wounds to the torso and head of the body, which was wearing U.S. Army-issue pants and boots and had a tattoo on the left arm.

Maamouri said the body had been turned over to U.S. forces.

6. His head showed signs of torture.
A police officer in Mussayab, 60 km (40 miles) south of Baghdad, who declined to be named, said the body had been found after a tip-off from residents.

A river patrol police officer in Mussayab who said he helped recover the body said the man appeared to have been killed about a week ago. His head showed signs of torture.

General David Petraeus, the commander of U.S. forces in Iraq, said last Friday he believed at least two of the three missing soldiers were still alive.

10. US has body found in river but no ID so far
Associated Press - May 23, 2007 7:43 AM ET

BAGHDAD (AP) - The US military has taken custody of a body found in a river south of Baghdad today but has not determined if it is that of a missing American soldier.

Major General William Caldwell, the chief US spokesman, confirmed at a news conference today that Iraqi officials recovered the body of a man they think may be 1 of the three missing US soldiers. But he says the body has not been positively identified.

Thousands of US and Iraqi troops have been searching for the three Americans since they were ambushed a week and a-half ago in a town south of Baghdad. Four other US soldiers and their interpreter were killed.

11. Iraqi Police Say They Found Body Wearing U.S. Military Uniform Floating in Euphrates River
Source: AP

Iraqi police found the body of a man who was wearing what appeared to be a U.S. military uniform and had a tattoo on his left hand floating in the Euphrates River south of Baghdad on Wednesday morning. One Iraqi official said the body was that of an American soldier.
The discovery of the body in Musayyib, about 40 miles south of Baghdad in Babil Province, came as U.S. troops and Iraqi forces continued their massive search for the three soldiers abducted May 12 in an ambush on their patrol near Mahmoudiya, about 20 miles south of Baghdad.

The report of the body found was confirmed by a senior Iraqi army officer in the Babil area. He told The Associated Press that the body found in the river was that of an American soldier. The officer spoke on condition of anonymity because he is not authorized to speak to the media.

12. Missing US soldier 'found dead'
Iraqi police say they have found the body of one of three US soldiers missing in Iraq since 12 May.

The body was found in the Euphrates river in Musayyib, south of Baghdad. The US has not confirmed its identity.

The men disappeared after an ambush on a patrol south of Baghdad, and have been the subject of a massive search.

In separate developments, 20 Iraqis have died in a suicide bomb attack on a cafe and US forces reported the deaths of another nine service personnel.

14. Right now, in Watertown, NY........
the home of Fort Drum and the 10th Mountain Division, a family is going berserk with grief because of this story about a "man who was wearing what appeared to be a U.S. military uniform and had a tattoo on his left hand". With no communication or confirmation from the U.S. military about it, a family learns that their son, husband, father has been found floating, dead, in the Euphrates River.

Nice. Thanks, George W. for completely ruining the lives of another American family because you have a small penis.

You're acting like the US military deliberately leaked this before being ready to confirm and inform the family,.

25. I'm not "acting" like anything.
How you read that I was blaming the military for this is beyond me. Had you not had your morning coffee yet when you wrote this? The media is to blame for releasing particulars such as a tattoo on the man's hand without waiting for the next of kin to be notified. My point was that now another family will suffer immeasurably because of Bush's ego and Oedipus complex.

Now, what can you read into that?

15. Will it ever stop? Looks like the Middle East is blowing up
I think it has been in a place to blow for years but if some of their leaders could get together and do things for their own people it may save it from total war. Bush just pushed it faster into this endless mess. If the leaders do not want to go down I think they should start looking at them self. We need no more Am. dead in their Rivers. Waste of a life. This has been one big waste. How can one ever for give this?

20. Think back to the Niger Yellow Cake papers. If they can't pin
it on someone one way, they'll create fake evidence and do it another.

It's horrible not being able to trust our own government.

19. Fox News continues "OPERATION: BABY JESSICA IN IRAQ."
Pay no attention to all the thousands of other soldiers who don't have all the right equipment.

Instead, let's all watch the dog-and-pony show as we spend all our emotional and financial capital on the manufactured drama of only these three soldiers.
