Giuliani: Dems in denial over 'War on Terror'
Source: CNN

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani sharply criticized fellow presidential candidate John Edwards Wednesday, saying that the former North Carolina senator's renunciation of the term "War on Terror" is evidence Democrats are in "denial."

"When you go so far as to suggest that the global war on terror is a bumper sticker or slogan, it kind of makes the point that I've been making over and over again," Giuliani told Fox News on Wednesday night. "That the Democrats, or at least some of them, are in denial."

In a speech before the Council on Foreign Relations in New York City Wednesday, Edwards said, "The war on terror is a slogan designed only for politics, not a strategy to make America safe. It's a bumper sticker, not a plan."
...

In March, Giuliani himself said he did not like the term "War on Terror," telling reporters it allows enemies to redefine the United States incorrectly as a nation that prefers war.

"We kind of have to get it into our mentality and into our policies and stop sort of feeding the idea that this is a war of our choice," said Giuliani, calling it a mistake to coin the phrase.

14. If not it should, wasn't Kerik picked by bush to head Homeland Security
and then discovered there had been some dirty dealing in his previous position as head of police dept, or something like that, while Guliani was Mayor? No one speaks of it anymore. Gee, Guliani could make Kerik his VP.

7. Eat my shorts Rudi!
The only solid platform YOU have is that photo-op from 9/11. So when exactly are you going to answer for the victims who are being used to fill potholes in lower Manhattan? :grr:

15. Ha! Kudos to CNN (online) for linking to Rudy's previous comments ...
... where he, himself, questioned the use of the "War on Terror" terminology.
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani said Thursday it was a mistake to coin the term "war on terror" because it allows enemies to redefine the United States incorrectly as a nation that prefers war.

Giuliani told a gathering of newspaper reporters that "America is seen as a country by too many that wants to have war, or exercises its power too much, pushes its weight around too much."

"America is just the opposite kind of country," he said. And referring to Iraq, he added, "We don't like this war. You can see the tension it's causing, you can see the frustrations it's causing."

Just two months ago. So recent that even CNN couldn't ignore it.
