BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- Eight U.S. troops were killed Monday in an attack in Iraq's Diyala province, a U.S. military official said.

The official said that a Kiowa helicopter was shot down between Baquba and Muqdadiya with small arms, killing the chopper's two pilots.

A quick-reaction force was called in to recover the chopper.

One of the force's vehicles was struck by a roadside bomb, and five more U.S. troops were killed. A second vehicle in the force was hit, killing one soldier.

The number of U.S. troops killed in Iraq during May is 112, making it one of the deadliest months of the war.

"You can rest easy citizens. I am perfectly safe, as always. No chance I would ever get anywhere near a war. I have made a career of avoiding shit.

"In fact there's lots of good news: War Profits are WAY up for my republicon cronies, so there is lots to smile about. Oh yeah, too bad about YOUR sons and daughters in uniform, and stuff like that."

7. Back when the Army Rangers were killed in Somalia
in 1993, Republicans didn't heistate to express outrage towards President Clinton....

Well, where the hell is the outrage from Republicans now as Bush has got us into a war that only trails Vietnam in length...

Lest we forget. Another Bush sent US troops where they didn't belong with ONE MONTH left in his term. What a nice steaming pile to leave for your replacement.
