Bush attacks immigration deal opponents
Source: AP

GLYNCO, Ga. - President Bush attacked opponents of an immigration deal Tuesday, suggesting they "don't want to do what's right for America."

"The fundamental question is, will elected officials have the courage necessary to put a comprehensive immigration plan in place," Bush said against a backdrop of a huge American flag.

He described his proposal — which has been agreed to by a bipartisan group of senators — as one that "makes it more likely we can enforce our border — and at the same time uphold the great immigrant tradition of the United States of America."

Bush spoke at the nation's largest training center for law enforcement

then you know that it ain't gonna happen that way. They like his war, but they've parted company with shrub here. They're eating their own over this one, AZ Sen. Jon Kyl is hearing their wrath.

2. Neither Side's Plan is a Good one
As usual, the government is reacting to a problem instead of putting in place measure to ensure that we don't have to react.

4. this is a GOP manufactured problem
and the Dems have been drawn into it. Stupid shits! It is just misplaced economic anger onto immigrants for the failing of the * economy to provide anything but service jobs.

5. Not Really
As a contractor to DoJ-Immigration courts I can say with a high degree of knowledge that we don't have an illegal immigration problem, we have an illegal hiring problem. Both sides share respoinsibility for not enforcing immigration law.

7. the cynic in me says there is no problem at all
employers get a maleable, cheap workforce

Xenphobes get a convenient target - a population of marginalized immigrants, without the legal status to fight back

It's a win-win for the right

9. Hey, Asshole! Enforce the laws we already have.
The irony of this dootchbag pretending to be the final arbiter regarding what's 'right for America' is enough to make my head cave in.

11. People who think this immigration bill is a good idea, take note
If George Bush is in favor of this legislation, is there any way possible that it's good for the US? I'm trying to think of one good thing this administration has done for the nation in the past 6 years, and nothing comes to mind.
