Alderman Charged With Bribing, Extorting Business Owners
No Federal Court Date Set

MILWAUKEE, Wis. -- Alderman Michael McGee Jr. was charged Tuesday on federal charges of extortion and bribery, the latest in a string of legal problems for the embattled city official who recently survived a recall attempt.

McGee, 37, is accused of seeking at least $5,000 from business owners in his district in exchange for favorable treatment on licensing matters, U.S. Attorney Steven Biskupic said.

McGee was arrested Monday, along with two other men, and all three remained in custody on Tuesday. They were expected to make an appearance in state court by Wednesday.

I have my doubts on this due to the US Attorney noted above.

But if they have real evidence, McGee Jr is up shit creek without a paddle.

You may be right.

On channel 12 in Milwaukee it was suggested they had recordings of McGee shaking down the business owners.
If so, he's up shit creek without a paddle.
