Ex-spy Plame and publisher sue CIA over her memoir
Source: Reuters

NEW YORK, May 31 (Reuters) - An ex-spy whose unmasking led to the conviction of Vice President Dick Cheney's top aide is suing the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency, accusing it of unconstitutionally interfering with publication of her memoir.

Valerie Plame Wilson and her publisher, Simon & Schuster, filed a suit in the U.S. District Court in New York on Thursday against J. Michael McConnell, the CIA director of national intelligence, and CIA Director Michael Hayden.

Plame's cover as a CIA agent was blown when her identity was leaked to reporters and appeared in a newspaper column in July 2003, shortly after her husband, former Ambassador Joseph Wilson, emerged as an Iraq war critic.

The suit said although the CIA had released Plame's dates of service in an unclassified document, "the CIA now purports to classify or reclassify Ms. Wilson's pre-2002 federal service dates" so it cannot be published in her memoir "Fair Game."

1. I'm confused. If Valerie wasn't as important as she and we
thing she was, (but the bush** administration says she wasn't) why would the powers that be want to interfere in her writing her memoirs?

3. Conservatives don't want to release the secrets of a desk jockey
- If she were not covert, why the importance of outing her?
- If there were no underlying crime why did scooter HAVE to lie?

Please would some fucking lurking flag waving conservative answer those questions for me?

7. The answer is easier than you think
"National Security." That will be their excuse in a nutshell. That way they don't have to answer questions like yours. Using national security as a cover they can do whatever they want.

P.S. I'm not, as you know, some fucking lurking flag waving conservative but I thought I'd answer your question anyway.

9. I love ya teammate and you are right
and I love your Governor and I love my wife's homestate of Kansas. Yeah National Security would be so incredibly effected if a desk jockey were allowed to write a book. Ya nailed em teammate. Conservative modus operandi, be stupid and always have a dumb answer because surely they'll be some idiot around to agree with you.

10. According to my freeptard pals..
she and her husband are traitors and deserve to be silenced.

So I guess the first response to your question was accurate in one respect; their reasons do not have to be thoughtful at all.

4. I can hardly stomach this level of hypocrisy.
Unbelievable.

And to top it off, those who revealed a covert CIA agent receive less than if they had an unpaid parking ticket. So far...

14. It's not our effort, so relax
We're enjoying a satisfying show because it's pure entertainment ... no policy, no constituency favoring one side of an issue ... the drama will play out because people are pissed. There's no role for us, except as audience. Pass the proverbial popcorn, please.
