New York voters favor Clinton (over Rudy): poll
Source: Crain's New York Business

Sen. Hillary Clinton has widened her lead over former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, as both candidates continue to dominate their respective primaries in the race for the White House, according to a new poll.

More than half of voters surveyed by Siena Research said they would choose Ms. Clinton over Mr. Giuliani by a margin of 52% to 39%. In an April poll, the margin was much narrower, with 48% backing the senator and 43% supporting the former mayor.

Ms. Clinton also dominated in other theoretical matchups. When paired against Arizona Sen. John McCain, she would win by a 54% to 36% margin and she would handily beat former senator-turned-actor Fred Thompson by 57% to 29%.

Illinois Sen. Barack Obama fared equally well. Fifty percent of New York voters would choose Mr. Obama over Mr. Giuliani or Mr. McCain, giving him 10-point and 17-point leads, respectively.

So what if Hilary beat Rudy back in 2000....he's AMERICA's MAYOR(TM). He can't lose, or the terrorists win...

1. They did in 2000 too. THAT's why he bailed out of the senate race.
My firm was doing polling in NY at the time.

6. I agree with that take completely. After all, Rudy didn't "get cut down there"
He made the big cancer announcement, and then went in for the radioactive seeds, because he didn't want his 'man business' chopped on--he was way too nervous about that. There's no horrible recovery or post-op for that procedure, you just get the implants on an outpatient basis, go on your merry way and a doc checks your shit regularly. http://www.kcc.tju.edu/RadOnc/brachy/fre6.htm

2. One less blue state to worry about if we nominate Hillary
But I am still worried about the other polls from blue states that have shown Hillary losing to Dame Rudy, as well as the national polls that have shows Hillary losing to Dame Rudy.

3. Gee, think maybe they remember things like the cops shooting guys waving their wallets, or
grabbing the toilet plunger to spice things up during interrogations?

All with the tough-guy, benevolent approval of Rudy "Skinny Mussolini" Giuliani...

5. Sweet! Rudy has trouble in his home state!
Clinton beating him isn't surprising. I am glad Obama is now kicking his ass as well.

9. well, Hillary didn't beat Rudy in 2000
Hillary beat Rick Lazio after Rudy dropped out of the race because of cancer. Prostate cancer, if I remember correctly.
