Presidential hopeful says it's time to 'turn the page (Obama)
Source: Reno Gazette Journal

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama told a raucous and partisan Reno crowd Thursday that it's time for America to "turn the page" on what he called failed Bush administration policies and to restore the country's respect at home and abroad.

---

Obama said one of his first acts as president would be to end the war in Iraq and bring American troops home.

"You can take that to the bank," he said.

Obama said he was proud of his vote in opposition to the war and said Bush's policies have done nothing to make America more secure from terrorists.

1. That's good to hear, but by "turning the page" I hope he doesn't mean
that this bunch shouldn't be held accountable. All candidates should be stressing not only that Bush's policies have done nothing to make us secure from terrorists, but have actually INCREASED our vulnerability.

2. Nobody is perfect.
I don't like his "health plan" either.

But, that any credible candidate is saying "I will bring the troops home immediately" is a good thing, it puts pressure on all the others.

3. Do you think we could do anything worse to this bunch then to send
them on the rubber chicken circuit preaching to a shrinking crowd of the faithful? Revenge is a loser's game. Just waking up in the morning and being George Bush or Dick Cheney is punishmnet enough. Get them out of governmnet and keep them from doing any more harm. That's plenty. We've got other work that needs doing.

5. Four Sentences
Gee, do you honestly believe he hasn't said what every Democrat has been saying for years? This is only a four sentence snip after all.
