Rice: US not preparing for war with Iran
Source: AP

MADRID, Spain - The U.S. is not preparing for war against Iran and Vice President Dick Cheney supports that policy, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice says, taking a swipe at a U.N. official who says he's worried about "crazies" who want to start bombing.

"The president of the United States has made very clear what our policy is. That policy is supported by all the members of his Cabinet and by the vice president of the United States," Rice said Friday.

"The president has made clear that we are on a diplomatic course," she said in regard to U.S. opposition to Iran's nuclear ambitions.

Rice, in Spain at the close of a European visit, was asked about the comments of the chief of the U.N. nuclear watchdog agency. Mohamed ElBaradei was quoted by the BBC as warning against the views of "new crazies who say 'let's go and bomb Iran.'"

2. Was maybe ElBaradei referring to McCain?
McCain is the person most recently publicized for suggesting we bomb Iran--he even set his suggestion to music.

3. Whatever Condoleezza Rice says, believe just the opposite
Dick Cheney runs this operation.

There is a rift in the Bush administration.

Dick wins.

Rice is so out of touch, she's practically invisible.

Remember when the righties were touting her as Presidential material?

Condi is 100% irrelevant.

4. Ah, so we are indeed preparing for war with Iran.
That's all I can infer from this headline.

5. "The president has made clear that we are on a diplomatic course".
Considering the "democracy" and "liberation" we've given the Iraqi people, I would worry about a "diplomatic" course regarding Iran.

I've wondered why we aren't in there already, stealing the oil to cement the International Oil Monopoly, or "New World Order". My only conclusion is that Iran is already part of it, and the sabre-rattling is play-acting to insure continued milindus growth and spending, and continued power grabs by BushCo and friends as they shape the new world economy. They've agreed to be the current bogeymen.

Considering the October Suprise as well as Iran/Contra, it appears that the Bush family and the Republicans have no qualms whatsoever about working and profiting with the so-called enemy. If no invasion occurs, consider that both parties are in cahoots and are laughing all the way to the bank, together.

We'll see, one way or the other. Would they bomb Iran if another terrorist attack occurs?

And if another terrorist attack occurs, will it be in a "red" state or city this time around, just as the anthrax letters AFAIR only went to Democrats etc. That would be veddy interesssting, indeed.

7. more: Looks like Condi is worried about Cheney being crazy
~snip~

Ms. Rice’s assurance came as senior officials at the State Department were expressing fury over reports that members of Vice President Dick Cheney’s staff have told others that Mr. Cheney believes the diplomatic track with Iran is pointless, and is looking for ways to persuade Mr. Bush to confront Iran militarily.

In a news conference on Friday, Ms. Rice maintained that Mr. Cheney supported her strategy of trying to deal with Iran’s nuclear ambitions through diplomacy. A senior Bush administration official separately denied that there was a deep divide between Ms. Rice and Mr. Cheney on Iran.

But, the official said, “The vice president is not necessarily responsible for every single thing that comes out of the mouth of every single member of his staff.” The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly about any divide within the administration.

The reports about hawkish statements by members of Mr. Cheney’s staff first surfaced last week in The Washington Note, an influential blog put out by Steve Clemons of the left-leaning New America Foundation. The reports have alarmed European diplomats, some of whom fear that the struggle over Iran’s nuclear program may evolve into a decision by the Bush administration to resort to force against Iran.

14. Saturday morning "cute"
Isn't that cute? Miss CondaLiar wants us to believe SHE formulates policy (about Iran).

Look at this statement, "Ms. Rice maintained that Mr. Cheney supported her strategy of trying to deal with Iran..."

AS IF she has anything to say about anything. She's nothing more than a spokeswoman for Cheney, a PR person for the vice president. She does not MAKE policy, she goes with the directives from her boss.

9. Well, of course.
One only has to look at how unprepared we were for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. That's how we roll.

this here is what we call the 'diplomacy' stage, you know, the set up, like, give up your WMDs in 24 hours even though you don't have any ... or else ...

to publicly contradict her. But that's not Cheney's style. He just goes and DOES shit. He doesn't care what Bush says, let alone Condi.
