Hagel calls on president to send special envoy to Middle East
THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

U.S. Sen. Chuck Hagel, R-Neb., says President Bush needs to turn his attention to brokering a solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Hagel's comments came Monday following his tour last week of Israel, Lebanon, Jordan and Italy.

Hagel said the only way to broker a peaceful resolution in the Middle East region is to send a special envoy to work on the issue day after day.

Chuck Hagel

"You can't put the secretary of state on a plane every two months and go in for a day or two and hold a news conference and meet with the leaders and so, 'OK, I hope you make progress, and I'll be back in two or three months,'" Hagel said. "It won't work that way."

1. Nice idea, except...
with scrubbie any 'special envoy' would just be a mouthpiece for this administration and would do nothing to further the goal of peace in the Middle East.

Maybe Bush will pick someone like Bolton?

2. Maybe We Should Send Them ALL!
Without body armor, vehicles or guards. That should alleviate world tensions by at least a third.

4. I thought that was
Rice's job. Everyone figured out she lies and bullshits when she turns her head side to side when explaining. Cheney, what a diplomat, on the deck of carrier. It amazes me to see service members rally around a puke that has 5 deferments under his belt (that's coming from an ex-army guy). When he cocks his head at a 45 degree angle --he's lying.

They want a war. War is business. People are making money on this war. And it's mostly people who haven't served, and their kid who won't serve. These people put the're personal and business interests before the interest of the people of this country. Why people buy into this shit is beyond me. Thanks big-O Steve for posting, I read the Wierd H. sometimes and might live in yer hood.
