Lawyer Links Rove to Ala. Investigation

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) -- A lawyer who claims White House aide Karl Rove may have given assurances that federal authorities were investigating a former Alabama governor said Wednesday that she spoke up because she feared justice had not been served.

Former Gov. Don Siegelman and a former health care executive were convicted last year of federal bribery, conspiracy and mail fraud charges after an investigation that began in 2002. Siegelman was also convicted of obstructing justice.

Jill Simpson, once a campaign worker for Republican Bob Riley, said in a sworn statement last month that Rove may have played a role in the investigation. Rove, one of President Bush's closest aides, has been at the center of turmoil over allegations that the White House has politicized federal investigations.

A prosecutor in the Siegelman case says Rove was not involved.

5. I don't understand how these two can be at ground zero for so many

calamities, and they're still not under indictment.

Cheney: held the energy meetings - 1st degree contact; was in the CIA office - 1st degree contact; was on t.v. selling this war - 1st degree contact.

Rove: Made calls to out a CIA agent - 1st degree contact. e-mails written proving he was a first degree felon. Well, one can hope.

The fact that it's impossible to indict these two is clear evidence that there has been a shadow government that has been circumventing the laws that govern ordinary people.

I think, in order to get Rove and Cheney, we need to out that shadow government. Or atleast seriously threaten to do it so that their own black hats will throw them under the bus.
