AP Poll: Bush approval hits low point

AP Poll: Bush approval hits low point
By ALAN FRAM, Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON - Public approval of the job President Bush is doing now matches its all-time low, with widespread discontent over how he is handling the war in Iraq, efforts against terrorism and domestic issues, an AP-Ipsos poll released Thursday said.

Only 32 percent said they were satisfied with how Bush is handling his job, the same low point the measure hit last January.

On issue after issue, approval of Bush's efforts matched previous lows, underscoring the challenges Republican presidential and congressional candidates will confront next year when they face voters.

Twenty-eight percent were satisfied with his handling of the war in Iraq.

Only a third approved of how Bush is handling domestic issues like health care, with the same proportion expressing satisfaction with his job on foreign policy and the war on terror. Another 37 percent said they approved of his handling of the economy.

12. We have had that
JFK airport was about to be fictitiously blown up and they are now saying that Iran is suppling munitions to the Taliban. Terror, terror, terror.

22. JFK Airport
Now how could that possibly have happened while the terrarists are still "over there" and haven't followed us home yet? :sarcasm:
Can't they at least get their fictions to match up?

5. The deluded who believe criticizing him gives aid and comfort to "the enemy."
The politically ignorant, the Dildo'reilly watchers, the Hanni-bots.

3. Jeesh! His behavior at the G8 has been bizaarly bad.
We now have the worst relationship with Russia in 30 years.

I can't believe what an idiot he is but he prooves time and time again that his idiocy knows no bounds.

4. I hate the numbers game.
What is this 32%?

32% of registered voters?
32% of registered voters, calling repuks and Dems at 50/50?

Think of all the non registered voters that disapprove.

It's much worse.

17.  Note spikes up: 9-11, Iraq War and Saddam
Does this mean the next big "terra" attack here in the US will be from "Iran"? with the capture of the "Mastermind" Amahdinejad just before the '08 election...(he asks while sticking his moistened finger up in order to see which way the breeze was flowing while unfortunately unaware that the tin foil wings attached to his secret thinking cap were actually impeding that air flow. Removing his shiny hat in order to get a closer look at the data, he discovers to his mortification that the predicted attack is a bit overdue!!!!)

I love this graph, Thank you for posting. I wonder why ABC/WP has consistently higher numbers than Fox? Do you suppose Gallup is rooting for bush?

Here is a notion for another graph that might generate some amusement: Gas mileage on new American built cars done yearly from the Model T to today. I say this because I see on some adds for new cars, gas mileage is used as a selling point, as if there had been an improvement! If the gas mileage had indeed gone up significantly I would understand this. Pay attention to a few car ads on TV to see what I am saying. If my memory is still working, those figures are not much better at all over the figures for new cars back when Carter was President.

21. Rassmussen has Bush pretty high
higher than most of them. It's not on the graph, though.

BTW, I think the graph updates on a regular basis. I.e., they gives the updated gifs the same file name, so that whenever you look at the pic, it's the latest.

Regarding the fuel economy... it has stayed more or less the same. However, the cars now have more power, safety, and performance for the same MPG, while emitting less pollutants. The days of needing a 80-horsepower econobox to get 35 miles per gallon has evolved into a midsize car with 120 or 150 horsepower.

10. I believe the figure is probably around
3% give or take a few points.

For obvious reasons, they won't publicize these numbers. They would probably fear a civil war in this country, if they did. I'm serious.

If you look at recent statements from Newt Gingrich, he seems to indicate this. He talks about single-digit approval levels, and a senator recently said (about Cheney) 'and I'm supposed to worry about someone with a 9% approval rating?'

The facts are in, folks.

15. 32% approve that BU$H is doing a good job!
Does this country have 32% of people with damaged intelligence?
I could understand 2% max. given that these people own most of the wealth in America, but 32%?!?!

18. Why is the 28% satisfied with war written out as "twenty-eight percent?" The lowest number
Edited on Thu Jun-07-07 11:26 PM by in_cog_ni_to
is written out, while all the other numbers...not quite as low mind you, are numbers. That wouldn't be ON PURPOSE would it? Why not just type 28%? It's shorter and easier. Just nitpickin'...it's my :tinfoilhat: and cynicism working overtime.:)

20. In formal writing, when a number begins a sentence,
it is spelled out. So it's not necessarily tinfoil territory. However, it is easier to spot and remember numbers written with numerals, rather than spelled out.

and he'd still get away with all of his bullshit.
