U.S. VP Cheney to have routine heart checkup
Source: Reuters

WASHINGTON, June 7 (Reuters) - U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney, a survivor of four heart attacks including a mild one shortly after the 2000 election, will have a routine heart checkup on Friday, his office said on Thursday.

"The vice president will visit his doctors at the George Washington University Medical Faculty Associates tomorrow morning for a scheduled routine cardiology check-up," said his deputy press secretary Megan McGinn.

Cheney, 66, and one of President George W. Bush's closest advisers, had a defibrillator implanted in his chest in 2001 to help regulate his heartbeat.

5. Good grief! With the medical center following him around, you'd think
they had enough information he wouldn't need a formal physical. He should donate his appointment to someone who doesn't have insurance and who is worth saving. JMVHO

...He may have a mechanical pump of some kind, but I'm doubtful that the man has anything resembling a human heart.

19. Bring in the iPods
I hope the staff gets to bring the iPods into the OR.

Many cardiologists use iPods to study heartbeats, as they can play them over and over and listen for anomilies.

20. What's the deal? They NEVER announce this stuff.
The only time they've announced a med appt for him was during the exact hour that Kucinich was due to announce his move to impeach him. So there's got to be more to this.

37. It ain't just the "Whoppers," HannibalBarca. It's 60 years of soft, slothful, hedonism.
It is prime rib and eggs for breakfast, Oysters Bienville and fried shrimp for lunch, and thick 22-oz cowboy rib-eyes dripping with butter sauces or mounds of pulled-pork barbecue for supper. All washed down with gallons of hard likker and tanker-loads of wine.

Cheney is a picture of ill health; a clinical study in bad lifestyle choices. He is crapulent, costive (always looks like an enema would help), and sessile.

Overlay that with his type A+++ personality, and any bookie in London wouldn't give you squat odds on him seeing another turkey feast in November. He is a dead man walking.

But that has nothing to do with why he will soon resign for "health" reasons .. or why Bu$h will summarily pardon him.
