Maliki: Anti-Iraq conspiracies aim to stop democratic process
Source: Voice of Iraq

Wassit, June 8, (VOI) – Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki said anti-Iraq conspiracies in the country's regional environs do not only target the government but also the democratic process in a bid to bring back the old regime.

"Iraq, with all its geographic extensions, historical depth and diverse groups, is our responsibility, which requires us to exert more efforts," Maliki said late at night on Thursday during a visit to Wassit province where he met with clerics, departmental directors, university professors and tribal chiefs.

He said, "the Iraqi government views with great appreciation the unity among groups of Iraqi people, and it is working hard to realize prosperity for the people."
Maliki noted that the cabinet "cannot find magical solutions to all the problems suffered by Iraqi citizens, considering the fact that the former dictatorship left many detestable problems."

1. Most delusional man in Iraq or the most dishonest. Either way,
remarks like this crack me up (AND THEY SHOULDN'T)...

Snip

"the Iraqi government views with great appreciation the unity among groups of Iraqi people, and it is working hard to realize prosperity for the people."

Snip

My questions are:

1) What unity?
2) Since when does 'working for the prosperity of the Iraqi people' mean giving the country's only asset away to foreigners?

Those are just two of many questions about this article. The biggest two.
