Bush Plagued By A String Of Mishaps On Europe Tour
Source: RIA Novosti

ROME, June 9 (RIA Novosti) - After braving an upset stomach in Germany and being greeted by crowds of protesters in Poland and Italy, the U.S. president probably thought things could not get much worse - and then his car broke down Saturday.

---
On Saturday, Bush arrived in Italy, where he held talks with Pope Benedict XVI, but later during his tour of the city his limousine broke down and a reserve vehicle had to be rushed in.

Moreover, the new limo was too big to squeeze through the gates of the U.S. Embassy, and the U.S. leader had to walk the remaining distance.

The specter of the Iraqi war followed him in Rome, as thousands of people marched through the streets shouting "No Bush, no war."

13. He looks like he's about to cry.
Perhaps he is finally realizing how despised he is by the world...not just the Americans. Finally realizing how close his administration is to self-imploding...getting caught with their hands in so many cooky jars. Laura even seems to be keeping her distance. Where's Condi? At the very least..where's Barney?

I won't hate to see him go down, but I do hate the fact he is taking the rest of us with him. We must begin our recovery. To hell with his.

42. He's in the back seat crying "Mommy"
As with poor Paris Hilton, I don't see Bush as being able to cope with true adversity and hardship. If his limo broke down, he'd break down and cry Mommy.

You'd think, after all the diplomacy he's engaged in the last week...

:sarcasm:

He's been a big string of mishaps since the day he was sworn in. He is greeted by protesters everywhere he goes. This is someone whose unpopularity is almost unparalleled in recent history. And yet, there are still a few out there who turn a blind eye, which stuns me.

just the same country we terrorized.

The Italian journalist incident, in Iraq about 2 years ago. Writer Sgrena, and her protector Calipari who was shot in the chest.

26. Same here. You have to wonder if he was recalling stories he knows about concerning other people who
were suddenly stranded when they least expected it and didn't walk away, like the Italian journalist and her bodyguard who took the bullet which was meant to hit her until he suddenly leaned across her just as the bullet arrived.

People like him always have a way of rationalizing the things they have done to others. Rationalizing, and a lot of hard drinking probably will always crowd out any pangs of conscience.

Still, a man who actually orders murders must feel anxious from time to time when there's any slip up.

10. OH< THAT'S funny! Does anyone know if the limo he was riding in was
an Italian one, or was it his own flown to Europe with his entourage? I know when he travels in the US they fly HIS cars with him, but I don't know about overseas trips.

The only reason I think it matters is because if it was HIS OWN, the poor car maintenance crew is gonna be catching hell, if it was an Italian limo, all he can really do is bitch up a storm about those damn foreigners!

20. ANY piece of machinery can have a problem ANYTIME!
Obviously it depends on what the problem was, but some simply just happen, and no amount of precision maintenance can prevent every problem.

I've heard Shrub is a crab ass most of the time anyway, and recovering from a hangover...er...flu, being in a country where he can actually SEE protestors in the streets, it's HOT, and he has to WALK to the embassy because the gates weren't big enough.....GRRRR My sympathies to anyone who had to travel with him!

A dry-drunk fetal-alcohol-syndrom moran of a President that gropes Chancellors and thinks Putin is a good-old boy would fuck up a super-important meeting between the most powerful nations in the world, right?

Right?

And all those DUers that predicted national embarassment, why, they only said those things because they hate Bush. And America. And freedom. And puppies.

22. Did Germany's Chancellor get back at george with bad food?
Or Drink? Isn't that where his stomach problems started? What's the deal with george drinking a non-alcoholic beer anyway? Saw that in one film clip. In one photo as george is getting on plane Laura is hanging onto his left arm which appears to be hanging by his side. He usually has that macho thing going on and in these shots it is like he is truly out of control. Either this is his way of avoiding having to deal with leaders of the world or..... he needs better doctors, or ......this guy is going over the edge. Trouble is that gives him too much credit for know what is truly going on around him.

Iran beware. This idiot leader has replaced Army with Navy leadership, Pace being removed and all. Sounds like a Navy battle is about to happen if someone doesn't give him some really bad food and drink, mess with his transportation... Hey, how about a tranquilizer??? Works for me.

Maybe his weinerschnizels were undercooked, ja?

The number of senior Navy personnel in the area is interesting. The Navy likes to bomb and use cruise missiles. The Army and Marines are too battered to invade Iran, so the only thing we can do is bomb and use cruise missiles.

Hmmm.......

40. He's been a black cloud over America's head
America has had a very tough time since Mr. Bush was inaugurated although it is more than bad luck. We've had events happen that were inconceivable in Jan 2001.
WTC's collapsed after being hit by airplanes used as missiles,
Pentagon hit,
Top S&P corporation (Enron) goes from viable to bankrupt in a few weeks (billions lost),
Many other large corporations bankrupted by fraudulent accounting,
War on two fronts,
Major hurricane hits a major city and America responds like third world nation,
Torture by American military,
Private mercenary armies are given huge boost at taxpayer and Constitutional expense,
Country at state of war while borders left unprotected

it goes on and on, but I'm too weary to rehash it.
