Israel and US begin air exercise
Source: Reuters/Gulf News

Occupied Jerusalem: Israeli and American air forces yesterday started a joint exercise at Al Naqab Desert, south of Israel, in preparation for what many Israeli press reports said a potential military strike against Iran's nuclear facilities.

The manoeuvres followed the return of Shaul Mofaz, Israeli Minister of Transport and Deputy Prime Minister, from the United States the day before.

Although all Israeli officials refused to comment on the exercise, the Israeli Army radio was the first to leak reports about the one-week drill, saying that several warplanes are taking part in the exercises.

<snip>

According to a high-profile Israeli Security source, "there is a common belief among Israeli army, security and government leaders that sooner or later, the United States will start a military operation against Iran, and Israel will play a part in that".

4. Steve Clemmons has a post up that Cheney's really pushing for this
and Clemmons got a tip off from insider that there's a battle going on inside WH about this between State and Defense over Cheney supporting Israeli Attack with his NeoCon friends where then they figure Iran will attack one of our ships and we can join in with air strikes to finish off what Israel doesn't get...

Who knows. Sy Hersh had this all coming down months ago...but Clemmons has insider and so does Joe Klein (I don't trust Joe Klein...but he verified that he had heard some of what Clemmons had heard about the inside battles.)

I would like to see Cheney gone quickly so that this doesn't happen. But, it may be a done deal just like Iraq was and our Congress will have to shut up about it and the war will widen. What can anyone do? They are hell bent on keeping us in the Middle East forever.
