Democratic leader calls for Bush to fire GSA’s Doan
Source: Federal Times

By DANIEL FRIEDMAN
June 13, 2007
A top House Democrat on Tuesday called for President Bush to suspend or fire the head of the General Services Administration following a report that says she violated the Hatch Act.

Asserting that GSA Administrator Lurita Doan’s action is part of a broader Bush administration effort to politicize agencies, House Democratic Caucus Chairman Rahm Emanuel, D-Ill., said the president “should heed report and fire or suspend Ms. Doan immediately.”

A caucus spokesman said Emanuel’s statement reflects widespread “outrage” among congressional Democrats over the report.

A White House spokeswoman has said officials there are reviewing the report.

1. I'm confused. She has admitted she violated the Hatch act, so why don't they just
indict her?

5. Ignorance of the law does not mean she is innocent. She VIOLATED the act.
Again, why don't they just indict her?

9. FIRE HER,
hell after what the RePukes were saying about her in Waxman's hearing I wouldn't be surprised if Shrub doesn't award her the Medal of Freedom. Those clowns made her sound like Mother Teresa with her charitable donations.

12. The White House is "reviewing the report"
Isn't that nice? They're awfully solicitous of the "rights" of their political appointees, but if Commander Bunnypants says someone he doesn't like is an enemy combatant, they disappear into the American Gulag.
