Missing 2 Days, 5 - Year - Old Found Alive
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

Filed at 5:57 a.m. ET

MOMENCE, Ill. (AP) -- A 5-year-old girl who was feared drowned with her grandfather on a boating trip startled searchers Friday when she emerged from the woods -- naked, scratched and holding raspberries.

Crews had pulled her grandfather's body from the Kankakee River in eastern Illinois just hours earlier.

''People were like, 'Who's that little girl? That can't be her, can it?''' Kankakee Sheriff's Chief Deputy Ken McCabe said. ''I went up to her (and) asked, 'How you doing? What's your name?'''

13. Isn't that cute (and smart!)
The little girl managed to find food for herself during that terrifying ordeal...now that's one smart, resourceful little kid. I'm glad she's safe and sound!!

7. Was That the Same Someone...
Who let her grandfather die and forced her to spend two days naked and alone in the cold, dark woods?

Just an innocent question.

10. Right, we don't live in a utopia with all happy outcomes, so there's no God. Got it.
I can't help you with your loss or lack of faith, so don't take it out on me.

How is your shoving your non-belief down my throat any better than a religious extremist doing the same with their religion?

Just an innocent question.

17. You know, I don't believe in god either, but
I do respect the rights of others to believe as they wish. Pushing the idea of atheism on a believer is just as offensive as a LDS visitor at my door preaching to me.

8. Sorry to be a doubter, but if God saved

11. How about we just leave the philosophical wranglings out of it and just be happy that this innocent
child came out of this ok? Can we agree on that?

16. how about two people made a mistake and one died. The other
got out alive. why does god have to take the blame for people's mistakes? Jeez. A man is dead. Respect doesn't seem out of line for everyone's feelings and reactions here.
