Bush, Olmert praise Palestinian leader (Bush: All Options on the Table re: Iran)
Source: AP

WASHINGTON - President Bush and Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert on Tuesday sought to bolster Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, calling him a moderate voice and the only true leader of the Palestinian people.

Bush and Olmert, at a meeting in the Oval Office, both spoke positively of new meetings between Abbas and the Israelis.

"I'm going to make every possible effort to cooperate with him," the prime minister said. Bush called Abbas "the president of all the Palestinians" and "a voice for moderation."

~snip~

Olmert said he will be talking to Abbas but spoke of several prerequisties for progress towards peace.

They included a much more responsive Palestinian government and increased security efforts, Olmert said. The prime minister also said that he wanted to discuss threats to Israel's future from Iran.

Bush replied that he views Iran's statements as a "serious threat" to Israel and that "all options are on the table" to make sure Iran does not develop a nuclear weapon. Bush said Iran must see that there is "a price to be paid for this kind of intranigience."

3. Anyone else besides me having a sneaking suspicion that
we were (possibly) covertly involved in pushing the situation to the level of violence we saw? Sorry...I just can't help it. How convenient is it that after the surprise of Hamas wins in democratic elections and the subsequent withholding of funds from Israel/U.S., that a violent uprising begets the U.S. supported Abbas to dissolve the government and install another new government that is exclusively Fatah? And, VOILA!!! Here's your money!

4. Nah, it was a kick in the nuts.
We been backing Fatah and Dahlan with money and arms and training so they could kick Hamas' ass, and they folded like a house of cards. There is some serious backpedaling going on now, aimed at preventing the "spread" of the Hamas "problem" to the West Bank (people flock to a winner, right?), but it's not going to work either.

6. Bush says all options on table on Iran
Source: Reuters

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President George W. Bush reiterated on Tuesday that all options were on the table in dealing with Iran's nuclear challenge.

At the start of a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, Bush was asked if military action remained an option for dealing with Iran.

"My position has not changed. All options are on the table. I would hope that we could solve this diplomatically," he replied.

Bush said it was important that Iran faced "consequences" such as sanctions and other economic measures for defying the international community over its nuclear program. "There's a price to be paid," Bush said.

Congress needs to put IMPEACHMENT on the table - it's obvious that the removal of any option to IMPEACH, INDICT and IMPRISON these criminals is wrongheaded.

7. Stupid asshole
We don't have the military resources to do anything but bombing runs. And all that's gonna do is light the fuse.

This chimp is so goddamned dangerous and stupid, it simply amazes me every day people are willing to follow him.

Pelosi, btw, was sweet enough to remove a provision in the supplemental bill that demanded that bushboy come to congress before he decided to attack iran.

15. That is the most overused and trite phrase
that has come out of this government. I am sick of hearing it. "All options are on the table." Why can't they come up with something original like We're going to bomb the hell out of them!
