Mine kills NATO soldier in Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan - A land mine exploded under a NATO patrol vehicle in eastern Afghanistan Thursday, killing one soldier and wounding four others, the alliance said.

The soldier died of his wounds at a hospital, a NATO statement said. It did not disclose the nationalities of the casualties, but most of the troops in the east are American.
