Blackstone raises $4.13B in IPO

Headline just posted. More to come for sure.

Waxman and Kucinich wanted to delay the IPO so they could see to it that the private equity firm is transparent in its now public form.

Another issue was that their profits were being taxed as capital gains (15%) instead of as income (34%+). Some want that rectified.

This is a big deal, so watch it...I doubt Carlyle is next as their ultra-secrecy would be at stake.
