N.H. poll puts Gore over Clinton

By Ralph Z. Hallow June 27, 200

ONLINE EXCLUSIVE / 3:13 p.m.

Former Vice President Al Gore is New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's worst nightmare in the nation"s first primary, a new poll shows.

If Mr. Gore got into the 2008 presidential nomination contest, he would edge out Mrs. Clinton in New Hampshire 32 percent to 26 percent and defeat the rest of the Democratic contenders, says a 7NEWS-Suffolk University poll of likely voters.

24. Huffingtonpost picked it up ... HERE COMES THE WILDFIRE! ...
Blockbuster New Poll: Al Gore Would Win The New Hampshire Primary

In a new poll released by WHDH and Suffolk University in New Hampshire, Al Gore would defeat Hillary and all the others and win the New Hampshire primary.

Soon, this will be major political talk. It takes the pundits a couple of days to catch up, but this is a very big deal.

There may be a surge in Iraq, but there is a bigger surge of grassroots Democrats to Al Gore. It will only escalate with the July 7 world-wide global warming concert that will reach 2 billion people on 7 continents.

Never before have the times and the leader come together as perfectly as Al Gore in 2008. The man, the moment, the mission and the magic. The leadership, the vision, the courage and the idealism.

A blockbuster poll now shows Al Gore winning the New Hampshire primary and this is a major moment in Campaign 2008.

77. Oh yes! That's what we need
Edited on Thu Jun-28-07 01:29 PM by BenDavid
is another person or for that matter the same person that did not fight to win in 2000. Most of you think Al Gore will automatically win the democratic campaign. I don't! For that matter I do not even believe Gore will even put his name in the pot. Reminds me of a quote from Braveheart. "just when we thought all hope was lost, our noble savior(s) have arrived".We all know what happened there....uh huh
One question I have for you Gore supporters. Do you think the African American community will support Gore? I do not believe they will, and if you do not have their vote yo ass is lost. Is that the reason you see so many of the Gore-Obama stickers being advertised?
Al Gore will not fight. He proved that in 2000. He bought into the right wing spin about him using Bill Clinton. And Gore did not use the Big Dawg and well he lost....He will again lose..Just like most of you here on this forum. HRC haters that have bought into the right wing spin that HRC cannot win..
I will stay with the one candidate that will fight for the democratic party and that is HRC. You can have all the Obama and Edwards out there. They will not fight. So if you democrats, liberals, progressives that want to lose again in 08 go with Gore, Obama or Edwards.....
I do thank you
Ben David

82. Bullshit!
Bush took it to the SC who ruled against Gore. As Gore said, the next step is anarchy and no one wanted that. Kerry, on the other hand threw in the towel before it even GOT to the first court level. Funny you don't mention that particular DLC candidate. You're backing another one this time around.

I am absolutely certain, right here and now that Gore would absolutely WIN the general. I guarantee it.

I'm not interested in your Hollywood movie analogy and it has no place in this debate.

Hillary Rodham Clinton WILL lose the General. The Progressive WILL NOT go along. And we lost in 2008 by letting the DLC Corporate whore advisors thrust upon us one more corporate puppet as a nominee. NO MORE. Got it? NO MORE!

Gore is the ONLY one that can win the General and the ONLY one that will bring us out of this critical moment in history. He is, indeed, our Lincoln, our Roosevelt. Anyone who would compare him with the likes of HRC, who's only accomplishment is sliding in on her husband's coattails, is nothing but delusional.

It was GORE who DID fight for the recount in FL until the Supremes Installed the Chiminator as POTUS. Do you think we at DU have no memory? You are using a standard tactic of the GOP (revise history), and those don't work here.

As for whether he will run, I kind of agree with you that I don't think he can be drafted.

Most appropriate quotation, blm.

12. Link to the Suffolk University news release
http://www.suffolk.edu/20780.html

and here's the pertinent paragraph:

The Gore factor

The only obstacle for Clinton in the Democratic primary is Al Gore. Twenty-nine percent of Clinton voters would switch to Gore if he announced for president, and when all of the switches from other Democratic candidates were recalculated, Gore would defeat Clinton. In total, 32 percent of Democratic voters would support Gore over the candidate they are currently leaning toward.

He wins the Nobel prize early December and announces in Florida - he'll run there, take the votes to the convention and screw anybody who says he doesn't get those votes (DNC says they won't accept Florida primary votes since they're doing it too early;).

Plus I'm now sure he will run after Matthews said who would drag the prize down by running for
president. What an idiot Matthews is, believe the opposite;)

Without reason or substance. Do you really think after him writing the Assault On Reason and saying he doesn't have what it takes to deal with the current political BS of today that includes polls like this, that posting it will impress him? Just how shallow do you think he is? But you have proven that this is not really about the environment, or reason, or substance... just beating the one they don't like.

47. We limited our options by being complacent for the last seven plus years
And now you think we deserve to just snap our fingers and he comes to save the day and put himself through this crap again? And for what? A populace that on the whole is too distracted and ignorant of truth or the desire to look for it to even appreciate him? Well FYI, he is already serving and it is unfortunate you don't think so. I could then see him cancelling everything for six months just to get away from all of this pushing on him...I wouldn't blame him if he never had anything to do with this BS process again. And again, polls are part of the sound bite process he discussed in his book that leads to decisions not based on reason. To think he would then be impressed by them then shows those posting them that they don't actually read the words he writes.

I don't "think" anything ... There's no hook here ... no attachment to the outcome ... This is all a very difficult path ahead for whomever assumes all this responsibility ... this is our country ("CRAP" to you though it may be) and some people think AL GORE is the best man for the job ...

If he throws his hat in the ring you can support him or not ... you're a sad, miserable excuse for a human being and it's your choice to be so negative ... but it IS your CHOICE and good luck with it ... now take your pleasant demeanor elsewhere ...

86. He already IS leading the world...
Regarding saving it. The presidency of this country is not the be all end of of it and there is so much he can do unconstrained by the political apparatus in this country that enslaves your conscience. He put up with the indifference and stonewalling BS for thirty years with nothing being done about a crisis ( even by Clinton) that is now threatening our very existence and is not waiting for some election in this country. The way he is leading on this issue since freed by that system as a private citizen, businessman, teacher, statesman, and environmental advocate has brought about more inspiration and change than thirty years of beating his head on the beltway brick wall and that is VERY POSITIVE. Therefore, I write him letters that tell him that and tell him to follow his heart. I'm not going to be harrassing him to do something he has stated he has fallen out of love with and has no plans of doing. I am also going to be at Live Earth supporting this planet and the work being done on the grassroots level because I AM POSITIVE that the human spirit can do great things when inspired on a moral level, and I am working to bring that change about myself. That has also been his message from An Inconvenient Truth to The Assault On Reason, and he is right. You should then try that instead of acting like you are so above it all.

Since you seem to find the idea of Al Gore running for President unappealing, I'm curious as to who you think has the best chance to win the Presidency if he doesn't?

I'm guessing that even if someone told you that Hillary would win the nomination, and then lose in the General Election to Guiliani, you would still prefer that to Al Gore entering the campaign.

Are you content with another repub administration, so long as Mr. Gore doesn't involve himself with politics ever again? Do you think said repub administration will be open to working on the climate crisis with Mr. Gore if he's in his current role speaking out against global warming?

Why do I have to be for ANYONE? If you think Al Gore is right that this entire process has started too soon, why are people who have no allegiance or opinion on it chastised for not supporting anyone now? I'm for changing this process from out here first and actually think this country will get the government it deserves based on how hard we want to work out here to change it. If you think just calling on this good man to save you without anything else being done to change the systemic abuse our system has taken first and the interests that abuse it, you are mistaken.

"she received an e-mail from the Harry Walker Agency, which has the exclusive right to arrange Gore's speeches, saying that Gore had canceled all his scheduled events in the next six months."

Tien, who invited Gore to visit Taiwan to promote awareness on global warming, told reporters yesterday that she received an e-mail from the Harry Walker Agency, which has the exclusive right to arrange Gore's speeches, saying that Gore had canceled all his scheduled events in the next six months.

90. If you're right about that, the presidency is as good as Gore's
Even a 20% crossover vote from republicans would pretty much hand the election to any D, and if Gore is perceived as a moderate...

This is good news indeed.

49. I've been holding out for Gore.
I would love to see him "instantly melt the field". We don't just need to win, we need a major change in direction and Gore is the most qualified to make that happen. He is the best environmental candidate and that is very likely to be the number one issue in this century.

68. Would a Gore/Obama ticket even be close in a general election?
If Gore runs, I hope he has the good sense to bring Barak on board.

It'd mean the start of a 16 year Democratic presidential dynasty.

And hey, maybe things wouldn't suck so bad. A guy can hope.

What better man to save this country than Mr. Gore. Heck, he wouldn't even need to spend much on his campaign. He's already ahead without even being in the race.

I'm not big on the Obama choice for VP. I think Lieberman really hurt him back in 2000 and an African-American on the ticket will also hurt his chance, especially in the midwest and south red states. My choice would be Richardson. He's got the experience and foreign policy saavy to be a really good VP.

With that said, Gore/Richardson '08. Be ready folks, because it's happening!!!!!!!!!!

to see a Gore-Clinton ticket and yes though she is not even in the running in my mind I could live with it.
