LONDON (Reuters) - Britain's new prime minister, Gordon Brown, started to unveil his government on Thursday, promoting old allies to top positions and bringing in a range of new faces to draw a line under Tony Blair's decade in power.

but glad to note that John Denham, who resigned as a junior Home Office minister in 2003 over the Iraq war, has been brought back as Minister for Higher Education. Maybe he, at least, will turn out to have some human decency.
