IRBIL, July 8 (KUNA) -- A Turkmen magazine editor-in-chief was assassinated by anonymous gunmen in Kirkuk northern Iraq, while three bodies were found scattered throughout the city, an Iraqi police source told KUNA on Sunday.

The journalist was shot dead when gunmen attacked his workplace in central Kirkuk, which resulted in his immediate death, the source said.

He added that local police patrols had found bodies of Iraqi civilians dispersed around the city.

The bodies had fire shot traces on them and one was decapitated, the source said.

Furthermore, 14 suspects, including two on the most wanted list, were detained in an operation jointly conducted by Iraqi and multinational forces in southern Kirkuk, the source added.
