Rudolph Giuliani's NYC Campaign Manager John D'Amato Dies Suddenly
Source: NY1

John D’Amato – a fixture in Staten Island politics – died suddenly Saturday.

D'Amato's family says he died of a heart attack while jogging on Staten Island.

He was currently running former Mayor Rudolph Giuliani's presidential campaign in the city. Along with Giuliani, D'Amato, 52, worked with several other New York Republicans over his career, including Councilman James Oddo and Staten Island Borough President James Molinaro.

More recently D'Amato was on the board of directors for NYC 2012, the city's failed bid for the Olympics.

1. Sad news indeed
And only 52 years old. Too young. My sympathies to his family and friends.

4. Lazio tripped in his very first event in the campaign - a parade.
At Lazio's very last appearance in that campaign, he turned to walk back to his car and stepped in dogsh*t. The ultimate sign.

6. Have to say, weird things sometimes happen to GOP...
... candidates in NYS. Remember when Pirro couldn't find page 5 of her 6 page announcement speech for Atty Gen.?

She didn't discover it til she finished page 4.
