The Press Association NewsdeskA group of school bus drivers from the US will travel to Britain this week to call on employers FirstGroup to end what they call the company's "anti-union tactics".
The International Brotherhood of Teamsters, the union that represents thousands of drivers with FirstGroup subsidiary First Student, claims there have been cases where members have been subjected to harassment and intimidation by company bosses.
Representatives will attend the FirstGroup AGM in Aberdeen on Thursday, where they will put forward a resolution calling on the firm to adopt a properly-enforced workers' rights policy. Teamsters president Jim Hoffa said the move followed First's failure to meet a promise made at last year's meeting to get rid of anti-union activity in its US operations.
FirstGroup has strongly denied any anti-union behaviour.
