Armor Holdings--BAE's Next Acquisition in U.S.A.--Accused of Contracting Abuse

July 13, 2007 (LPAC)--A report by the Pentagon Inspector General hits on Armor Holdings and Force Protection, two sub-par companies allied to the British-based BAE Systems, for contracting abuse, and failure to deliver vital armoring to U.S. troops. At the same time, U.S. Rep. Louise Slaughter has called for hearings on procurement corruption by the Dept. of Defense.

All this has occurred as besieged Attorney General Alberto Gonzales continues to stonewall on the answers about the investigation of BAE Systems, demanded by Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) in his letter of June 21. (For a copy of the Kerry letter, click here).

1. ...Excuse me, am I reading you right? "Larouche PAC"?
No wonder there's a silly sentence reading "allied to" BAE. Why not just use the truth? It's a pending acquisition, last I heard. None of this "allied to". Either it's owned by BAE or it's not, and last I heard, it's not - yet.

3. Fraud and bribery absolutely are problems.
It's just that Armor Holdings was up to no good well before BAE made its move. In fact, one wonders if the entire reason BAE got interested was because of Armor Holdings' performance in successfully leeching from the taxpayer, if not in actually delivering the proper product.

4. mainly bribery, and non-bid contracts
How can there be oversight, if no investigation even takes place? Or is there a major cover up.
Don't really know unless there begins to be some disclosure on this. On the BAE - Saudi connections huge amounts of money seem unaccounted for. I can understand the need for keeping government military secrets. But i would think that Kerry would have security clearance to see what it is they are doing.
