Bush to reaffirm commitment to Mideast

By DEB RIECHMANN, Associated Press Writer 1 hour, 13 minutes ago

In remarks planned Monday, Bush is seeking to bolstered the embattled Palestinian president, Mahmoud Abbas. His Fatah Party now controls only the West Bank since the Islamic militant group Hamas wrested power in Gaza earlier this year.
...........
"The president sees there is an opportunity there now to show the Palestinian people a choice between the kind of violence and chaos under Hamas in Gaza and the prospect, under President Abbas and Prime Minister Salem Fayyad for an effective democratic Palestinian state that can be on the way toward what we all want, which is a two-state solution, a Palestinian homeland for the Palestinian people," Hadley said.

International negotiators trying to bring peace to the Mideast plan to meet Thursday in Portugal. The group, expected to include Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, will confer with former British Prime Minister Tony Blair for the first time in his new role promoting peace between Israel and the Palestinians.

1. Madame Rice and Sir Blair together.
One should be on the lookout for stirred up mud and hornets' nests. MKJ

2. No shit. What a combination. Just the recipe for mischief and mayhem.
What is the point that has to be reached for some kind of natural reaction to occur when so much evil is in one place? Just as nature abhors a vacuum, water sinks to its own level, (and other various natural events) doesn't it seem only natural that when you get so many of these clucks in one place, something quite nasty should occur? Something 'explosive' should happen? The earth should divide and all of a sudden we can see into the bowels of Hell?

I just can't imagine so much vileness and corruption in one place and nothing ever happening.

5. She is, indeed. But they've got to keep her out on the road, and super
"busy" all the time because Henry Waxman still has that subpoena issued for her that she isn't inclined to cooperate with. She's just too busy...

BITCH.

7. I wouldn't say "over-rated".
I would say they are evil, vile and corrupt, just like everyone else in this mis-administration. Along with Clarence Thomas and J.C. Watts, their race is only important in that they seem so corrupt that they appear to have no integrity and lack the vision to see that they are probably being used by the Republicans only for cover. They used Powell because he was seen as the most reasonable person in the administration and they use Rice like a spokes model, but neither seems to have any real influence within this administration. They both wound up doing nothing but parroting the Bush talking points.

8. Bin laden with those thoughts for her entire tenure
as NSC chair and even more so while she has effed it all up as sexstate.

She barely knew that there were two major sects in the muslim faith. She did not know how or why they differed. She did not know which predominated in IraqNam. She did not understand wahabi training and education camps, nor how many in the House of Saud supported their attacks on US troops mistakenly placed in Saudi Arabia by Daddy Bush. She did not believe or understand that the take down of Saddam would leave a huge leadership hole, that Baathists controlled most of the intellectuals, the middle class, the factories, the schools, government, etc, and that removing them precipitously, would destroy that country from within.

She is protected, I am sorry to say, for a couple of reasons. She is female, she is black. She has an aura of intelligence, culture and she has attitude. That thin veneer masks a completely shallow, incompetant and intellectually lazy person whose path to power was writ in stone by big oil long ago.

Why did she study "soviet studies"? because the powers behind her were grooming her for a future role. WHen the USSR fell apart too early, they simply shifted her to another position. They stored her at that poor university as the most worthless provost in their history, saving her, and contiuning to groom her resume.

Our country is blessed with many fantastic female pols and leaders.
Our country is blessed with many fantastic black pols and leaders.
Our country is blessed with many fantastic balck and female leaders. Condi is not one of them.
