Vitter Denies Prostitution Accusations
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

Filed at 6:35 p.m. ET

NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- Sen. David Vitter on Monday denied charges that he had relationships with New Orleans prostitutes and said he will return to work in Washington this week.

In a news conference in suburban Metairie with his wife, Wendy, by his side, Vitter offered an apology to ''all those I have disappointed and let down with the actions of my past.''

3. So, Vitter wants it both ways (no pun intended)
He DIDN'T have sex with prostitutes, but last week he explained his wife had forgiven him for his prositutial transgressions.

(Yeah..there's no such word as "prostitutial", but I kinda like it! :silly: )

5. Vitter re-emerges and again asks for forgiveness
U.S. Sen. David Vitter again asked for forgiveness for a "serious sin in my past,'' but provided few details in a brief statement to reporters Monday afternoon from a Metairie hotel ... Vitter provided few details of the actions for which he was apologizing, saying such statements would not serve his family or his office. But he did say some of the reported stories regarding incidents in New Orleans were not true. He said he and his wife had confronted his sins "in confession and marriage counseling and have put it behind us" ...

http://blog.nola.com/times-picayune/2007/07/vitter_reemerges_and_again_ask.html

I is truly sorry. Fer what? I'd rather not say ...

10. He's lying with the truth
"But he did say some of the reported stories regarding incidents in New Orleans were not true."

I have no doubt some of the stories have non-factual elements. But that doesn't mean the claims are entirely false either.

37. You ought to read the letters he sends out to people in his district
He has learned the art of word smithing from Rove and company.
His hypocricy and his wife's hypocricy and fakeness have no bounds. His wife publically was critical of Hillary when she stayed with Bill.
Well Karma does happen in this lifetime sometimnes. I hope the media stays outside her house forever. These hypocrits deserve it. Family values, abstinance lol

12. Reminds me of one of my uncle's advice
Never admit it. Even if she catches you naked in bed with a prostitute, deny it. As long as you give her a reason to doubt, however unreasonable it may be, she'll take it.

Guess the goddamn lecher was right.

"... but Wendy Vitter stepped to the podium and called her husband 'my best friend'".

(from http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/us/AP-Vitter-Senate.html ).

What a pantsload!

Since when can you have "a press conference" and not take any questions?

Why didn't the Times call what happened this afternoon what it was? A "photo-op" staged by expensive partisan PR flacks,

24. Was that his wife standing next to him. . . . .
. . . . .wearing the leopard-print dress? I didn't see the press conference, I only saw clips that were on Hardball, but the first thing I thought was, "Uh, oh, Wendy, that was NOT the dress to wear. Not, not, not."

Tansy Gold, who has no fashion sense herself but would never have chosen a leopard-print dress to wear when her husband was confessing on camera to having visited hookers. . . . . . . . . . .

29. So, umm.... help me out here.
1) He states didn't do it.
2) He states has "sinned" and has attended marriage counseling and has worked past it.

I think these are mutually exclusive. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Otherwise, what's the "sin" we're missing? He still belongs to the Republican party, so it's not that.
