Roadside blasts kill three US soldiers in IraqThree US soldiers were killed in Iraq by roadside bombs
while they were on patrol in the capital, the military
said on Wednesday.
The first two soldiers died after a roadside bomb went
off near their vehicle as they patrolled in the western
side of Baghdad on Tuesday, the military said.
A third soldier was killed and four others wounded in
a similar blast in eastern Baghdad on the same day, it
said in a separate statement, adding that US forces
then killed two insurgents allegedly involved in the
attack.
The latest fatalities bring the military's losses in Iraq
since the March 2003 invasion to 3,621, according to
an AFP count based on Pentagon figures.
