Bush hits new low in N.H.
By The Associated Press, By The Associated Press | July 18, 2007

President Bush's job approval rating in New Hampshire hit a low for his presidency -- 24 percent -- in a poll released Wednesday.

Seventy-two percent of those polled disapproved of Bush's performance in the University of New Hampshire poll for CNN and WMUR-TV.

"Republicans are still modestly supporting Bush," said poll director Andrew Smith. "But there has to be real concern among Republicans that animosity toward Bush will drag down other Republicans, such as Sen. John Sununu, in 2008."

It comes three days after a Research 2000 poll for the Concord Monitor in which 28 percent of 600 regular voters rated Bush's job performance good or better. That poll, conducted July 9-11, had a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 5 percentage points.

2. It's Not the "animosity toward Bush "
that will drag republicans down but the perception that republicans have continued to place a higher priority of protecting their (GOP) president above the that of our country and it's millions of people. The media tries to spin it as a "personal" hatred and it's not that people hate the president for personal reasons, it the hatred of all the poor decisions that are destroying all that has been built up over the last 200 years. The GOP continues to support him and continues to support those same poor decisions, knowing the damage that is being done. Yes, people will turn away from the GOP next election, but not because of "animosity toward Bush " but rather because the GOP turned away from USA and it's own people for their own personal gain.

3. If there is a bright spot to Smirk's presidency
it would have to be that he helped NH get rid of Sununu. Time will tell.

4. Possibly the only true words to pass through W's lips...
"I'm a uniter..." True enough; it is hard to get 76% agreement about anything. For comparison, the percentage of people who don't consider the Uniter's performance good or better is higher than the percentage of people who actively try to include dairy products in their diets--that is, more people think Bush is bad than think milk is good.

5. and yet... the GOP pres candidates campaigning there keep echoing
bush's policies - even while attempting to distance themselves from bushjr. Clue - it *is* the policies that people dislike/disprove of - foolish candidates - but keep barking up that tree ... please.

12. Sununu must be defeated.
He is NOT some sort of Chafee-like moderate centrist - he is a hard right politician emblematic of the OLD New Hampshire. He can de defeated, by a wide margin, if the Democrats have a smart campaign.

17. Useless Poll
What good is it to him or us? Dumbya is leaving office next year even if the poll say 100% or 5% approval. He will retire with $500,000 per year for the rest of his life for ruining this world.
