2 Heating Oil Companies Raided By Feds
Company Officials Accused Of Overcharging Customers

POSTED: 7:52 am EDT July 19, 2007
UPDATED: 9:50 am EDT July 19, 2007

NEW YORK --
More than 200 federal agents raided the offices of the Mystic Tank Lines in Queens and the offices of T & S Petroleum in Brooklyn Thursday morning amid allegations that officials at both companies conspired to overcharge customers, law enforcement officials said.

The home heating delivery companies are accused by federal prosecutors of overcharging customers approximately $75 million since 1990. Postal inspectors, FBI and IRS agents executed search warrants and four company officials will face charges, according to investigators.

The owner and treasurer of Mystic Tank Lines and the owner and office manager of T & S Petroleum Transporting are expected to be charged with money laundering and other federal charges at a Central Islip federal courthouse on Thursday.

Investigators said they are looking into whether the fuel company officials rigged some of their trucks with secret compartments in order to over bill customers.

Don't pay any attention to Cheney's energy meetings, and the manipulation of the California energy market. The feds are on the case. Really.
