Group Sues For Clinton's File
Source: AP

Washington, D.C. (AP) - Judicial Watch, a conservative public interest group, said Wednesday that it has filed a lawsuit seeking Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Rodham Clinton's records from her years as first lady.

The lawsuit, filed Monday in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia against the National Archives, contends the archives has a legal obligation to demand the records from the Clinton presidential library in Little Rock, Ark., and to make them publicly available, according to a Judicial Watch statement.

The group is seeking Clinton's calendar, daily office diary, telephone log book and chronological file for the eight years her husband, Bill Clinton, was president.

The group filed a Freedom of Information Act request with the archives on April 5, 2006 for the materials but never received a reply, the statement said.

3. Well then! Let's make sure ALL records of ALL candidates, 'Pug and Dem, are available
to the public.

Why just single out only one? They all have WH connections. Let's just have us a look-see!

5. Well, since one of the first things Chucklenuts did in January 2001
was seal all the records from St. Ronnie and Poppy Bush's administrations (just as they were due to be opened) plus moved all of DimSon's Texas governor records to Maine to Daddy's library (believe he was ordered to return them to Texas), I say that Hillary keep her records away from this bunch of crooks, thieves and liars.

Open ALL records but until the corrupt rethugs release their secrets I say Hillary should fight it and use the issue to point out their hypocrisy - again.

10. Poppy Bush's Presidential Library is at Texas A&M
in College Station, TX.

Isn't that where Junior sends his records?

13. Executive Order #13233, my first, biggest pet peeve.
Alberto Gonzales wrote Executive Order #13233, signed by * in November, 2001, essentially saying "Go Chenney yourself" to Congress and all Americans. It tossed out the provisions of the Presidential Records Act, passed in the post-Nixon era. It lets the President seal the records of a past president, even against the wishes of a living past President. For this alone, Bush should have been impeached. Congress has done yet to do anything to hold him accountable for it and confirmed Abu as AG, knowing he authored this treason.

I feel that had St. Ronnie's and Poppie's VP records become public, large portions of *'s admin would instantly become toxic, if not imprisoned.

I feel that any candidate running for President should promise, and deliver, an Executive Order overturning #13233. If I had my way, it would be signed immediately after taking the oath of office, right on there on the steps. If we want to get rid of the Neocon cone of silence, this needs to be shouted from the rooftops. Get rid of #13233 and you have my vote.

None of which will make any sense but that won't matter.

12. Judicial Watch needs to take this up w/ GWB
he was the one that signed the executive order essentially sealing all presidential records--in direct conflict with the Presidential Records Act of 1978

14. I noticed that they did sue Cheney
for his energy task force meeting info. I don't know what they expect to find from
Hillary's notes from the '90s, though.

15. But my question is
Do the records of Hillary from when she was First Lady even fall under the freedom of information act also if Cheney who is an elected official can hide information from the act why can't Hillary do the same?

17. Why would this be a big deal?
Just let them have the records. They shouldn't even have to sue. As long as it was government business, they have just as much right to know what goes on in their government as we do.

18. Good. I hope someone sinks her campaign before the primaries.
Hillary is the SINGLE MOST DIVISIVE candidate in the running for President. We must ask ourselves why so many Repukes want her to run. The reason? They know that Hillary will rally the vote against her and help them perpetuate Repuke rule of the WH.

I like Hillary personally, but there are too many important issues right now to let her personal ambition trump our ability to retake the WH.
