An Iraq war veteran from Mountain Iron, reported missing in northern Minnesota, has been found dead, said Deputy Joe Skofich of the St. Louis County Sheriff's Department.

Earlier reports indicated that he had been located alive.

Skofich said he believed Noah Charles Pierce was found in the Gilbert, Minn., area but didn’t have a lot of details about the case.

Pierce, 23, went missing Wednesday afternoon after he sent several friends text messages that he was suicidal, the St. Louis County Sheriff said.

3. Dammit!
He's at least the third Minnesota Iraq vet to come to a violent death since returning home from this damned war.

5. One poor guy pulled a suicide-by-cop here in Alexandria a few weeks ago.
They have it on tape. He really went nuts. His family said he was suicidal and sure enough, he loaded up with ammo, got drunk and took the cops on a high speed chase before pulling over, hunkering down in the ditch and firing at the officers, announcing his intentions to shoot them .

Such a sad deal, all the way around.

4. What could have possibly been so bad for a 23 year-old to take his life?
So very, very sad for his family. We will never know the demons that followed this young man from Iraq. I hope that, in years to come, these poor souls will be added to the troops who actually dies in Iraq. Because, these poor people actually DID die in Iraq.
