President George W. Bush will visit Minneapolis on Saturday to inspect bridge collapse damage and confer with local and federal officials, according to White House spokesman Alex Conant. No details of Bush's schedule were immediately available Thursday afternoon.
The presidential visit will come a day after First Lady Laura Bush tours the collapse site as part of previously scheduled trip to the city. After touring the disaster site, Mrs. Bush will address a youth conference at the University of Minnesota.

Maybe the Governor should declare a state of emergency for that day prohibiting anyone from being within a 20 mile area.

30. Apparently, there was no air guitar to play,
and no birthday cake to eat, and no brush to clear. Otherwise, it would be a long time before he even acknowledged the disaster. What a POS.

20. He is going to wave this report around
And say "My daddy warned you in 1990 that this bridge wasn't safe".

In 1990, the federal government gave the I-35W bridge a rating of "structurally deficient," citing significant corrosion in its bearings. The bridge is one of 77,000 bridges in that category nationwide, 1,160 in Minnesota alone.

35. More from the link:
The designation means some portions of the bridge needed to be scheduled for repair or replacement, and it was on a schedule for inspection every two years. During the 1990s, later inspections found fatigue cracks and corrosion in the steel around the bridge's joints. Those problems were repaired. Starting in 1993, the state said, the bridge was inspected annually instead of every other year.

A 2005 federal inspection rated the bridge structurally deficient, giving it a 50 on scale of 100 for structural stability.

24. As Stephen Colbert would say, he doesn't just 'stand FOR things, he stands ON things'.
Look for him on the safest piece of rubble that the advance team can find. And don't worry; protesters won't be allowed in the photos.

36. You know, as of late I have come to...
The conclusion that the world is now in a dormant state. Bush has no choice but try and earn brownie points. It doesn't matter if he visits the site or not. I think his administrations actions as a whole have sealed his coffin. If I were the such a disgraced President, I too would resort to hiding at camp david till my time is up, and only make an appearance as a gesture of sympathy to whatever media frenzy story of the month dilemma comes along that DOESN'T involve the war.

You don't think he knows what a disgrace people think he is?
