Iran and Nicaragua in barter deal
Edited on Sun Aug-05-07 04:31 AM by demoleft
Source: BBC

Iran is to help Nicaragua develop its infrastructure in return for farm products, according to a trade deal between the two countries.

Under the agreement, Iran will help develop a port and build houses and industrial sites.

In return, Nicaragua will export coffee, meat and bananas to Iran

But the US has warned Nicaragua that closer ties with Iran could harm its relation with Washington.

...Washington warns.
Washington threatens.
Washington invades.
Washington is at war.

Why does not Washington take a breath for a decade and decide to leave its guys/girls home, investing on them and their suburbian lives, and rebuild its foreign relations with M.E. countries and South America and so on, taking a break from nearly 230 years of wars and military campaigns?

Iran breaks isolation. And Washington starts to remind me of the Roman Empire, unable to keep the borders safe.
An Hadrian Emperor is quickly needed.

2. So they sell the mullahs a few pineapples and coffee beans
and the mullahs can inflate the cost onto their own people.
It's no big deal but I hope the Iranians honor their end of the bargain. They have stiffed the Russians in the past.

3. Nicaragua has already tasted the beast's vengeance...in the '80s.
Daniel Ortega just might remember that. And he might be happy to cut a deal that spites the US, as well as benefitting Nicaragua.
