Iraq's Maliki rejects Sunnis' resignations
Sun Aug 5, 2007 5:48AM EDT

BAGHDAD, Aug 5 (Reuters) - Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki
has refused to accept the resignations of six Sunni Arab cabinet
ministers who quit last week, a source in the prime minister's
office said on Sunday.

Deputy Prime Minister Salam al-Zobaie and five other ministers
from the largest Sunni Arab bloc in parliament, the Accordance
Front, triggered a political crisis by announcing their resignations
last week.

A senior member of parliament from the Accordance Front said
the ministers would still quit, despite Maliki's decision not to
accept their resignations.

1. Maliki has been hanging around B*** so much, he now
believes he can make people do what he wants, even when they refuse to,, ""Either do what we say--- or we'll blow your ass away"

2. Didn't they leave for summer vacation? Or is it a politics as usual
using the summer break as being more then the "break" it was intended to be.

We'll see when the govt comes back from recess.

6. The Iraqi parliamentarians said, why stay, the laws aren't being presented.
All the real debate was going on in the cloak-rooms to begin with, so why stay and do absolutely nothing until that's completed?

(Well, obviously for US appearances but, they obviously didn't care quite enough about that.)

7. Just get that oil pipeline to Israel back on line
and the Sunni triangle can middleman the flow of oil. Hire their own unemployed to gaurd the public works project that will be employing their own local idle workforce.

No power lunch decision can get it done but a working vacation is where the devil in the details can be hammered out.

8. Maliki to Sunni's,
"You can't quit".

"Come back here".

Sunni's: "Forget it, Maliki. This is not worth it. You're a puppet and this whole thing is a sham."

"I won't let you quit".

"Watch us.....>"
