Clinton discussed use of nukes last year
Source: AP

NEW YORK - Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton, who chastised rival Barack Obama for ruling out the use of nuclear weapons in the war on terror, did just that when asked about Iran a year ago.

"I would certainly take nuclear weapons off the table," she said in April 2006.

Her views expressed while she was gearing up for a presidential run stand in conflict with her comments this month regarding Obama, who faced heavy criticism from leaders of both parties, including Clinton, after saying it would be "a profound mistake" to deploy nuclear weapons in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

"There's been no discussion of nuclear weapons. That's not on the table," he said.

oh, you know the rest.

But suck it up - she is the inevitable one. The Alpha AND the Omega. The Ying AND the Yang. etc.

2. I think the GOP is pushing her nomination more than Dems.
With her the GOP has a boogie-woman that every republican can hate. Her disapproval ratings will kill her in the general election. And even if she does win, she's more "republican" than most of the other Democrats. Rush Limbaugh and the other hate mongerers will all get contract extensions. Ken Starr will get a new special prosecutor job. Republican congressmen will paralyze gov't. It's nothing but a win-win situation for the GOP if she wins. I don't mind her myself but I feel she will be hampered by the irrational feelings that the GOP base has for her. Just like Bill, they will dream up scandals (some real ones, I'm sure) to paralyze.

6. That Was A Hillary Quote From The Other Day
Except she was referring to the cash she takes from lobbyists - I added the Republican part.

Sorry - that was way too obscure.

10. Now that's genuinely unfair. The phrase long precedes Bush's election.
It's very longstanding diplo-speak. That doesn't make it immune from being dumb, but it is not Bush-Speak. Bush didn't invent the phrase, not by a very long shot, numerous decades.

11. It's sickening the a no first nuclear strike policy is "chastized" by fellow Democrats.
I understand that former Pres. Clinton had a policy of no first nuclear strike against non-nuclear states. That would exempt all states in the region other than Pakistan. Adopting openness to first nuclear strike simply provides fuel for the nuclear arms race. When nuclear blackmail is used with impunity, naturally sovereign countries wish to acquire such weapons to immunize themselves.

19. That's OK, I'm still waiting for an explanation of why she was at least
"not anti-war" during the 2006 Senate Primary here in NYS. (That's why Cindy Sheehan endorsed Hillary's opponent, Tasini) What happened between now and then to change her mind? I know she didn't have time to read the intelligence estimates. Maybe she read some polls, instead?
