Bush defends Gonzales: AG has 'done nothing wrong'
Source: Bloomberg

President George W. Bush defended embattled Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, calling Congress’s investigation of nine U.S. attorney firings a “political exercise” that has yielded no proof of wrongdoing.

The president today bristled at a reporter’s suggestion that he hold Gonzales “accountable” for turmoil at the Justice Department since Congress began investigating the firings in February.

“Implicit in your question is that Alberto Gonzales did something wrong,” the president said during a news conference in Washington. “Why would I hold somebody accountable who has done nothing wrong?”

The president said the Democratic-controlled Congress should “be more prone to deliver pieces of legislation that matter as opposed to being the investigative body. I believe we are watching a political exercise.”

3. And, thanks to the Dem TRAITORS last week, he probably hasn't done anything wrong...now.
Chimp knows that the Dems just approved his and Gonzo's illegal actions and is essentially dick-whipping the candy ass Dems daring them to do something about it. As usual, nothing will be done and the CRIMINAL ASSHOLE continues on his merry way.

4. So...that's it, investigation and subpoenas are done?
Perjury is okay because the lies in question are all whitewashed by being made retroactively legal?

I still don't understand how congress can pass a law to suddenly make horrendous illegal acts that have transpired over the last six years retroactively legal--with this latest spying, the torture, holding suspects captive with no charge and no legal ability to question or defense.

Seriously--does our constitution allow for this--is there any historical precedence?

6. Alberto Gonzales Double Dares Congress To Impeach Him
Alberto Gonzales Double Dares Congress To Impeach Him

Washington, D.C. - In a strikingly brazen display of contempt for Congress, Attorney General Alberto Gonzales pulled down his pants and mooned Senator Pat Leahy and then spit in the face of Senator Diane Feinstein before yelling out to the entire Judiciary Committee "Impeach me, you cowardly scum! I double dare you! I triple dare you!"

Gonzales then urinated on an expensive Persian rug on the floor of the committee room while refusing to answer whether or not plucking the eyeballs from a prisoner was torture or simply enhanced interrogation.

Several hours after his committee appearance, President Bush once again reiterated his support for his embattled attorney general by saying, "Gonzo is my guy. Hell, a neutered Chihuahua couldn't be more loyal than my buddy Gonzo. There isn't anything he wouldn't cover up for...oops, I mean do for me. I'm behind him 100 percent or 200 percent, whichever is larger."

7. District Of Columbia Now Classified
District Of Columbia Now Classified

Washington, D.C. - Attorney General Alberto Gonzales has confirmed reports that the Justice Department has placed all of Washington, D.C. under "Top Secret" classification effective immediately. "D.C. is now a classified area. Making D.C. classified is absolutely vital to the safety and security of the American people," said Mr. Gonzales.

Questioned as to how citizens will be able to visit the Capitol Building, congressional offices, the White House or the Supreme Court, Mr. Gonzales answered, "Those with the proper clearances will be allowed to apply for brief visits on a need-to-know basis."

Robert Gates, the new Secretary of Defense, supports classifying the nation's Capitol, citing the need to protect sensitive intelligence information located within the District's confines. When asked if classifying D.C. and making it off-limits to visitors without prior approval by the government was the result of this weekend's protest on the Mall by over 30,000 participants demonstrating for an end to American involvement in Iraq, Mr. Gates replied, "No comment."

8. Attorney General Gonzalez To Reinstate Ancient Gladiator Games
Attorney General Gonzalez To Reinstate Ancient Gladiator Games

Washington, D.C. - In a bid to decrease the budget deficit while providing entertainment for the American people, Attorney General Alberto Gonzalez, acting on orders from President Bush, today announced that the ancient Roman tradition of Gladiator Games is to be revived. Said Gonzalez, "We are going to give the American people exactly what they want, exciting sporting events where the stakes are high. And, at the same time, bring in much needed revenue for the nation's coffers."

Details are sketchy but this much is known. The games are to take place on Capital Mall where President Bush will preside over the festivities in a special viewing platform accompanied by his wife, the vice president and his general staff. Prisoners from Guantanamo and those currently awaiting execution in the nation's prison system will be given the option of fighting for their possible freedom in these games.

Traditional gladiator weapons will be used. These include swords, lances, harpoons, scimitars and nets. Individual competitions will last until one man is left standing. And, in the tradition of American Idol, wounded gladiators left on the playing field will be spared or put to death based on the crowd's reaction. However, unlike American Idol, the final decision will rest with President Bush who will also decide whether or not the winner of the competition will be given his freedom or be forced to fight another day.

Revenue from these games is expected to reach as high as 4 billion dollars the first year. Most of this cash influx into the general treasury will come from an agreement reached with Fox Sports which will have exclusive broadcasting rights to all gladiator games. Additional income will come from ticket sales. Special seating tickets will cost as much as $140 while general admission seating will be an economically priced $18.

And, of course, in the spirit of reaching across the isle, and demonstrate a willingness to compromise in a show bi-lateral support and to avoid any appearance of having a spine or one once of courage, the Democratic gladiators will simply lay down, motionless in the middle of the arena and allow the Repug gladiators to beat them into a puddle of mucous and blood.

9. The most consistent thing about Bush is that every single
