Gonzales says legal system in Iraq shows improvement

Associated Press
Aug. 12, 2007

Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, under fire at home with calls for his resignation, is spending some time in Iraq.

The Justice Department said in Washington that Gonzales arrived Saturday in Baghdad for his third trip to Iraq to meet with department officials who have been there to help fashion the country's legal system.

"I am pleased to see firsthand ... the progress that the men and women of the Justice Department have made to rebuild Iraq's legal system and law-enforcement infrastructure," Gonzales said in a statement released by the department.

His optimistic assessment came despite the frequent sectarian lawlessness and killings in the country.

1. Considering that the Geneva Conventions are quaint and our...
Constitution is null anything over there would look A-okay.

2. And of course the American People are thrilled with his trustworthy assessment.
The only reason they're hiding him over there is to take the heat off. How rovian. Next stop, the Arctic, where he'll assess that the legal system is in fine shape up there even though it's pretty melty-looking.

7. How would he recall what he sees over there?
My fondest wish would be for him to forget his way home. Wishful thinking on my part. I do believe he is there to take the heat off himself here. The old "out of sight, out of mind" principle.

Gonzales or my country (America)

As long as these thugs are in power, America is a joke
As long as they go free for their crimes, America is a joke

Our words... a joke
Our (so-called) principles...a joke
Our laws...a joke

This is the funniest thing I have read all day.
This is like getting opinions on how to build a henhouse from a fox.
