Obama defends foreign policy views

COUNCIL BLUFFS — Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama defended his foreign policy views Thursday, saying Sen. Hillary Clinton and other rivals had no right to call him "naive" when they helped "engineer" the Iraq war.

Obama, on a five-day tour across Iowa, spoke to a crowd of about 450 people at Kirn Junior High School. He also campaigned in Atlantic and at the State Fair in Des Moines.

Along the way, the candidate's wife, Michelle Obama, fired up the crowds with her own spirited speech.

The Iowa swing came as Obama, a first-term U.S. senator from Illinois, found himself on the defensive on foreign policy and his experience.
