Snow to leave White House before Bush
Source: AP/Yahoo

WASHINGTON - White House press secretary Tony Snow said Friday he'll leave sometime before the end of the Bush presidency because of financial pressures.

He declined to say when he would depart, but that, "I'm going to stay as long as I can."

The 52-year-old Snow, the father of three children, earns $168,000 as an assistant to the president but made considerably more as a conservative pundit and syndicated talk-show host on Fox News Radio. He was named press secretary on April 26, 2006.

Bush's term ends on Jan. 20, 2009.

"I will not be able to make it to the end of this administration, just financially," Snow said. "This job has been such a pleasant surprise in how much I like it. I love it."

me to feel sorry for anyone who has trouble making it on $168,000! Must be rough after making several million a year on FOX !:sarcasm: And most American families don't even have health insurance! And the capper is his admitting he "enjoys' being a lying whore for the Bushco! Sheesh!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

4. The dumb shit didn't save any of the big bucks he made at Faux?
And now he can't live on $168k per year. Well boo fuckin hoo.

If he's in as bad a shape as he appears to be I don't know why he doesn't quit to "spend more time with his family" and actually enjoy the time he has left instead of stressing himself lying daily for this chickenhawk crew.

8. Bingo. Especially considering how frequently he's been absent lately.
They're hauling out ALL the B-team'ers, including some kid who looks like he just graduated from Regent University. I think tony looks pretty bad these days - the cancer's taking a toll on him, even if the constant lying, bullshitting, manipulating, distorting, stonewalling, and deceit is not.

Tony Snow probably won't see the end of Bush's term, & he may want to go back to Faux & rake in the big bucks so his family will be taken care of after he goes.

We've all seen him recently, and he looks awful. I'm not sure why he's using this financial excuse, but I believe it's far more serious than that.

As much as I swear at my TV when he's on, I feel very sorry for him and those 2 little kids.

Besides, this story about finances smells to high heaven, the man knew what he was going to be paid before he took the job.

23. It may be financial in a different way

If I was in his shoes, it wouldn't be financial in "trying to get by" on $168k/year, it would be financial as in trying to earn as much money as possible so my family would be set after I'm gone. And from that point of view, I don't blame him (forgetting what I think about the latest crop of press secretaries, particularly Scott McClellan). If I was him, and cancer was taking its toll, I'd do what I could to fund my family.

77. I almost prefer her
Because she seems to honestly not know or understand. With Snow and McClellan and Ari I felt they know and were intentionally lying to me. Dana is just out of her element, and I think out of the loop, and actually she doesn't bother me as much. It's more like she's repeating what SHE'S told, rather than lying. The end result is still the same lack of information, but at least it's not as offensive as the other three were.

49. Saving private Tony:
Tony should get out of the country and go where they know how to incorporate an enhanced immune response against what he is facing.

1: Oncol Rep. 2005 Mar;13(3):497-502.Links
Enhancement of cytotoxicity of NK cells by D-Fraction, a polysaccharide from Grifola frondosa.
Kodama N, Asakawa A, Inui A, Masuda Y, Nanba H.

Department of Microbial Chemistry, Kobe Pharmaceutical University, 4-19-1 Motoyama-kitamachi, Higashinada-ku, Kobe 658-8558, Japan. n-kodama@kobepharma-u.ac.jp

In innate immunity, activated natural killer (NK) cells attack and damage pathogens such as bacteria and virus without restriction by the MHC antigen. NK cells activated by IL-12 have been reported to recognize and kill tumor cells in perforin-mediated apoptosis. We have reported that D-Fraction, a polysaccharide extracted from the maitake mushroom (Grifola frondosa), activates macrophages, dendritic cells, and T cells and inhibits the growth of tumor cells. However, the effects of D-Fraction on NK cell function in the innate immune response are not well known. In the present study, we administered D-Fraction to MM-46 mammary tumor-bearing C3H/HeJ mice intraperitoneally for 3 consecutive days and investigated its effects on the activation and cytotoxicity of NK cells. D-Fraction significantly enhanced the cytotoxicity against NK-sensitive YAC-1 cells and the expression of CD223 on NK cells. D-Fraction also increased the expression of CD86 on macrophages. In addition, the levels of IL-12 in the culture supernatant of whole spleen cells and in serum increased, compared with the control corresponding to an increase in expression of IL-12 receptor betaI on NK cells. These results suggest that D-Fraction enhances the cytotoxicity of NK cells through the production of IL-12 by macrophages activated by D-Fraction.

at least it looks that way. I'm surprised he didn't use health as the reason for leaving.

64. "financial reasons"....
what a lame excuse. anyhow, here's a pic of him from less than a month ago. He looks OK to me, but illnesses are very deceiving, and it's not an up close photo. maybe dicky and dim son will follow his lead? er.. I mean, Rove's lead. er, I mean Rummy's lead. er... well, this could go on and on, you get the point.

74. if he can't live on $168,000 a year...
how does the administration expect people to live on $5.15 an hour? and i'm sure he's counting on a big book deal, but who's going to want to read about what happened behind the scenes with these criminals?

78. Personally, I believe with his health as it
is and him on most days having to lie to the press and the country this is causing him undue stress and in turn causing his health to be more of a problem. I wish Tony Snow the best of health and a long life. I just believe he is a good man and has a conscience.
I do thank you
Ben David
