Bush visit expected to cause traffic trouble in Bellevue
Source: King5.com

BELLEVUE, Wash. - Afternoon rush hour on the Eastside certainly has its headaches, but later today it will be an even bigger one. President Bush is scheduled to be at the Hyatt Regency Bellevue for a late afternoon fundraiser for Rep. Dave Reichert, R-Wash.

As the presidential motorcade rolls from SeaTac Airport to Bellevue, all rush hour traffic will have to be cleared from the roads.

He did this to KC last week, making a large percentage of the city late to work, including myself.

It was to get breakfast before his big Vietnam comparison speech.

Apparently he only ate a single biscuit, probably because twisting Vietnam history was hard enough to swallow.

1. Don't forget about the cars that got towed
so the asshole could go eat a biscuit with George Brett and Carl Peterson.

3. I heard about that
There was no sign posted and each of them had to pay upwards of $300 to get their cars our of impound.

I got stuck in a labyrinth on my way to class and work, which took more than half an hour to get out of. I'm surprised I didn't get shot for flipping off the sniper copter with both hands. They didn't like it very much.

He seems to be a little more paranoid recently, unless I am missing something, because I've never seen BS like this before.

I can't imagine that he is helping his approval rating or the candidates he is supporting by pissing off the entire city in creating these massive traffic delays during rush hour.

If he is coming to a city near you, expect your city to be shut down entirely.

8. So I guess y'all can imagine how Darth Cheney's neighbors feel....
Since he pulls the motorcade BS every morning with sirens and a convoy that stretches down the block.

As much as I liked the Clinton Administration, I got stuck in rush-hour traffic more times than I can count when somebody - I don't know if it was Al or someone in the cabinet - decided that the national mall would be a good place to land the helicopter. Given the total ignorance of planning your trips to land on the mall during rush-hour three and four times a month, I would've thought Chimpy was already in pResidence.

13. Who cares about approval ratings?
As W has said before - who cares what you think? He's not able to run for re-election, so it doesn't matter who he screws.

Besides, if *you* were really important you'd have your own helicopter. /sarcasm

7. Reagan ate in Bellevue once
the locals have some story about him eating at a Chinese food place there . . .

But he probably didn't inconvenience thousands at rush hour getting there . . .

5. SeaTac to Bellevue?
There's going to be a lot of pissed off people.

Tens of thousands of cars travel between SeaTac and Bellevue during rush hour.

14. My LTTE on the subject was published today
in one of the two largest papers in the area ;-). Let's just say that we spent 40 minutes sitting on 405 with engine off, waiting for the Boy King to pass by.

405 was closed. Bellevue Way and NE 8th were closed. If you were attempting to get anywhere in Bellevue yesterday, you were out of luck. Unfortunately for me, my husband's office is there, and we had tickets for the Mariners game as well.

11. When your ratings are in the dumper, the local media notices what an annoyance you are, huh, g?
Take my advice, georgie, and just stay home. It's tough enough out there without you screwing everything up for everybody.
