Suffolk (VA) Bomb Threat Disrupts US Joint Forces Command
Source: WTKR-TV

Suffolk Police are currently investigating a bomb threat outside of the U.S. Joint Forces Command in Suffolk.

At approximately 11:15 a.m. a man driving a pick up truck drove up to the guard post of a delivery entrance to the facility. Security requested the delivery papers and that's when police say the driver gave a guard a piece of paper saying there was a bomb that was going to explode.

Security contacted the Suffolk Police Department and they responded to the scene. The man stayed in his vehicle until police arrived. Police removed the subject from the vehicle. Suffolk Fire and Rescue responded.

Portions of College Drive were shut down. Evacuations of area businesses were conducted including a strip mall nearby. Virginia State Police's bomb squad was requested and responded. They examined the vehicle. No explosives were located.
