China passes new anti-monopoly law
Source: AFP

BEIJING (AFP) - China's parliament on Thursday passed a long-awaited anti-monopoly law that is widely expected to make it harder for foreign firms to buy up Chinese companies, state press reported.
...
The law will require national security checks for foreign companies seeking to merge with or take over Chinese enterprises, Xinhua said.

2. Im not so thused about this law
It sounds like it's not so much about preventing monopolies, but preventing western companies from getting a better foot hold in China.
With all the crap that has come from China, especially lately, a western hand in the factories might be better for everyone, especially Chinese consumers... too bad sites like this are banned in china, or we might get some perspective from the Chinese peasant, er, i mean average person.

3. The USA lets anyone, like Dubai, buy any of our companies and
even our roads, ports ect. But then we are in Bush world where the free market is always right regardless of the consequences
