Odor of Solvent Triggers Alert at Capitol
AP Wire

January 3, 2004, 9:57 PM EST

WASHINGTON -- The nearly empty U.S. Capitol was evacuated Saturday after a sensor detected a possible biohazard in the basement of the building's Senate wing, but the problem turned out to be an industrial solvent.

The sky is failing, the sky is falling. Nay, it was probably just Pickles putting on more nail polish?

1. Thanks for a good laugh to start the day.
I immediately thought of Chicken Little as well.

Since Pickles doesn't make it over to Capitol Hill very often, I suspect the alarm was triggered by the adhesive Trent Lott uses to fasten his rug to his head.

2. Soon, aerosol mouthwash to be banned in public ?.
.
.
. And heaven help anyone who uses an aerosol hair spray or deodorant in a public washroom !!

. and mace ?

. Heck, some individuals will hafta be careful they don't use a deodorant or perfume that are too "odoriferous" ?

with all the chemicals we use on our bodies, hair etc, sooner or later they'll set off some "bio-hazard" sensor, and off to jail, do not pass go - ya know, National Security and all

Think I'll stay on my side of the border

forever - -

5. Laquer Thinner is my guess
Then if he gets caught holding the bottle he can blame it on Laura. It takes a lot of nail polish remover to get those thick coats of paint of her nails you know and they can smell it all the way down up on Capital Hill.
