Clinton Embraces Mantle of Change
Source: Associated Press

By BETH FOUHY

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (AP) - Seeking to dispel rivals' claims that she can't bring needed change to Washington, Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton told supporters Sunday that her years in public life and willingness to seek common ground would produce real results as president.

"I know some people think you have to choose between change and experience. With me, you don't have to choose," she said at a rally here.

Clinton unveiled a new campaign speech in New Hampshire, as the Labor Day weekend signaled the start of a final four-month sprint before voting begins.

She outlined several goals she wanted to achieve as president - restoring American leadership in the world; rebuilding the middle class; reforming government; and "reclaiming the future" for children.

2. There's a huge difference between compromise and
capitulation-and we saw the latter time and time again in the Clinton Administration. When did Hillary (or Bill) truly fight against the powers-that-be? Being able to take public humiliation and hatred is not leadership. If the RW power structure is not destroyed we will see a complete re-run of '93-'01-only worse because she does not have the emotional (at least publicly) resiliance of her husband.

9. I disagree.
I think that it was because of Hillary that Bill made it through that ordeal.

And it is awfully hard to get things done when you have the GOP biting at your heels, and doing their best to find every little fault about you that they can.

3. this mantle of change she speaks of
Is what all politician's pull out of the closet every two to 4 years and when they win, politely wrap it up and put it back in the closet. Her voting record shows she is a republican in democrat clothing.

No thank you.

15. "Reformer with Results" remember that slogan?
I think it was *bush's third slogan during his run for the gop nomination in 2000. When Mccain was kicking his lame chunk in the early primaries, he had to act like a "reformer".

8. How Depressing
... You can't pretend the system doesn't exist," she said. "It's not just about dreams, it's about results. ...

The desired results?

Reagan-BUSH; Bush; Clinton; Bush; Clinton.

It is called an 'oligarchy' ... the system that does indeed exist ... the dream of the elitists.

The founders of the Republic are certainly rolling in their graves.

11. Fifteen years ago we bought all this bullshit and what did we get?
Hillary sat on health care reform for two years and then forgot about it, and Bill worked his ass off to give us NAFTA.
